Theo and Keith went outstation for business trips and had entrusted some matters to me before they left. Thus, I spent a few days at Grant Corporation.
Theo called me during lunch, and when I heard his familiar voice, a great deal of my exhaustion disappeared.
"Have you eaten?"
"About to. How about you?"
"I'm eating now. You wouldn't have eaten if I hadn’t called you." Theo knew me too well and knew I would forget to eat when I was busy.
I smiled softly. "Okay, I'll go eat after this call.”
"I’ll be coming back the day after tomorrow. You’ve worked hard, President Lane.”
"You’re too kind, President Grant.”
After ending the call, I took the elevator down and just so happened to bump into Neil downstairs. "Neil? Why are you here?”
"President Lane.”
"You can still call me Wanda when it’s just the two of us.”
Neil smiled slightly and spoke again, “Alright then, Wanda. I came to talk to you about the project follow-up. Are you heading out?”
"I haven't had lunch yet and was about to go out and have some. Have you eaten? Would you like to go together?"
"Okay, let’s talk while we eat.”
"Alright then.”
I took him to a restaurant near the company. "The food here is delicious, you should try it.”
"Yes. Sales for Golden-O have been doing well, but we’re already seeing a downward trend."
I glanced at Neil. "And they say I’m a workaholic. I think you’re the one who’s one. You’re talking about work even over meal times.
Neil smiled awkwardly at that. "No, I just wanted to come up with a solution earlier.”
