I thought that the haze would pass soon and did not expect another obstacle to follow soon after.
I learned it through the news.
Keith had jumped ship.
I was not very sure about it at first, but then I arrived at Grant Corporation and realized that all the personal items on Keith’s table were gone.
When I entered the office, I saw Theo sitting in his seat, looking a little lonely.
"Theo," I whispered.
He turned his chair around to look at me while putting on a smile. "You’ve been coming over quite diligently recently.”
There was bitterness hidden in his smile. He was still trying to put up a front.
I lowered my gaze, and when I looked up again, there was clarity in them. "Have you hired yourself a new assistant?”
"Not yet."
It made sense. It was not easy to find another assistant who was as capable as Keith.
I pursed my lips. After hesitating for a long time, I finally asked, “Will I do?”
Theo was stunned as if he had not expected me to ask this. He asked me again as if to confirm, "What?"
I was still a little hesitant at first, but I really wanted to help him now. Thus, I nodded and responded again, "May I ask if I’m qualified to be your assistant, President Grant?"
"What about Green Orange?"
"Marius is there. Shannon will be coming back soon too. I can come over and help you until you find yourself a suitable assistant. I just wonder if I’m qualified." I looked at Theo, a smile stretching across my lips.
