Scrambling to Be the Father of His Ex-Wife's Kid novel Chapter 2692

“President Zus, we’ve been working together for so long. Why do you suddenly want to terminate the contract?"

Theo signaled me to hand the phone over to him. I did as he requested, thinking that he must have a way to stop President Zus from wanting to terminate the contract. Instead, what he actually said was, "Okay, President Zus. Let’s find a time to sign the termination agreement."

I snatched the phone back from him after the call ended. "Why did you agree with him so quickly?"

"There’s no need to ask for his reason. We all know it.” Theo smiled.

I was crestfallen. "I didn't expect Keith to be so heartless as to actually take the project away."

"If anyone else calls to terminate the contract, just say yes," Theo informed me as if having anticipated what was to come.

No longer having the mind to eat, I close the lid. "These projects are with clients who we’ve been working with for a long time. It’s a pity to lose them. It’ll also impact Grant Corporation. What will people out there think?

"Forget those out there. What about the company employees? They’ll definitely think that Grant Corporation has been struck a serious blow and will go out of business." I held my cheeks with my hands. The more I thought about it, the more annoyed I felt.

Theo suddenly approached me, his handsome face looking large and coming to a stop in front of my eyes. "Even you’re worried. It seems that it’s only a matter of time before people panic."

"I think it’s already begun," I said softly while glancing at him.

I let out another sigh, not knowing what to do.

Theo was still wearing a relaxed smile on his face when he saw me smile. He could even comfort me. "No matter what happens, I’ll be relieved as long as you’re still here with me.”

I could not bring myself to be moved by his romantic words at the moment. "How can you be assured? Don’t lie to me. If you’re sad, I’ll lend you my shoulder.” I patted myself on the shoulder.

This amused Theo. "I can't do that.”
