Shannon’s interest was suddenly piqued when she heard this. She pulled out the chair opposite me and sat down. “How did you find out about it then?”
"When I was chatting with Theo in the office, he actually said, intentionally or not, that he trusted Keith. It was probably a reminder to me but I thought it was a little strange. I didn’t think too much about it at the time. I only probably truly found out the day Keith looked for me alone.”
"He came to you alone? Was he not afraid of being discovered?"
I looked at Shannon and smiled slightly. "I bumped into him when I went to the best that time. He told me a lot of things at the time but he said something at the end before he left.”
"What was it?"
His words were still so exceptionally clear in my mind.
"He said he wouldn't participate. I couldn’t figure out what he meant at first but then I considered how calm Theo had been and all the clues that had been scattered about and guessed their plan."
Shannon looked like she understood as well when she heard that. "You were able to guess from that, huh? If it were me, I might have been kept in the dark."
"I was forced to grow up." I covered my mouth and laughed.
"Suddenly, it doesn’t feel like it's good to mix about in the business field. Let's keep Green Orange small. If we really were to get that big, I’m afraid I might go crazy with all these deceptions.”
Shannon's words were not unreasonable.
In fact, after experiencing so many things, I was beginning to feel like mundane life was the most beautiful.
It would be great if I could find a relaxing place to live with Theo so that we could get away from all these messy things.
"Alright, let’s not think about this anymore. These are the documents you have to deal with today, don’t forget." Shannon pointed to the stack of papers next to my desk.
That pulled me back to reality. "I got it.”
Gareth would not be back until a few days so I concentrated on my work during then and finished up everything that I had let pile up for several days.
On this day, I went to Green Orange as usual. Logically, Marius should have returned after having rested for so long, but I did not see him.
Worried that something was wrong with him, I drove to his apartment.
