Scrambling to Be the Father of His Ex-Wife's Kid novel Chapter 2731

He closed the door. After making sure that there was no one around, Theo came over to me and said, "I kept sensing that we’re being watched.”

Being watched?

I was shocked and looked out the window, a chill coursing through my chest.

My expression changed slightly. Thinking of Gareth, whose silhouette just flashed past us just now, my emotions were even more of a complete mess. Dazed, I sat down, practically clueless. "Who would want to spy on us at this time?"

"We probably shouldn’t have seen that but we did."

"Could it have been deliberate? But what would be their purpose?” I was a little confused.

Theo did not seem to have a clue about what was going on yet. "The enemy is hidden while we’re in the open. It won’t be easy for us to run an investigation.”

"That person wants to connect with Gareth, he also knows us.” A name flashed in my head. “If you think about it, it could only be someone from the Yards. Could it be Sylvester?"

Theo shook his head after a moment. "They didn’t look too familiar. It’s no big deal even if Sylvester and Gareth had some relationship, unless..."

"Silas," I whispered.

“Yes,” Theo affirmed.

“It's strange that he’s still so worried about me despite being abroad." I bit my lip. It felt off but at the same time, there seemed to be something about it that made sense.

Theo was also thinking. The two of us were quiet for a long time as we stood facing each other.

A wave of unease welled up in my heart.
