After Jeff Harris and the police had finished talking, he should have sent the little girl in his arms to the police. He lowered his head and looked at the little girl who was clenching his neck tightly with her face buried into his chest.
"Little child, next let the police uncle take care of you, okay?" Jeff Harris said to the little girl.
When the little girl heard it, she shook her head.
The stern face of the vice-captain immediately revealed a very warm and loving side. He smiled and walked over, "Little child, let's find your parents for you, okay? Let Uncle hug you."
"Woo..." The little girl who was scared cried out loud. She was lying in the arms of Jeff Harris and was crying in fright instantly. As she cried, she watched the police vigilantly and pulled Jeff's clothes tightly. "Daddy... I want Daddy... I don't want to leave Daddy..."
"Are you the father of this child?" The vice -captain asked in surprise.
"I'm not, but I don’t know why as soon as this child saw me, she regarded me as her father. Now I'm single and have no children at all."
The vice-captain had not seen the little girl's face clearly just now, so he didn't take it seriously. He thought that it was reasonable for such a little child to mistake someone.
"Little child, let Uncle hold you, okay?" The vicecaptain wanted to hold the little girl away, so that the good-hearted person, Jeff Harris, could leave. After all, this was the responsibility of the police.
"No... No... Woo... No..." The little girl was very angry and rejected it. She cried and waved her short arm to stop the vice-captain from getting close. She didn't even let him touch her.
Jeff Harris was also frightened by the little girl's reaction, and his heart could not help but clench. He felt bad when he looked at the little girl who seemed to be frightened and was very helpless.
"Little child, be good. Uncle Police is not a bad person. He will help you find your family."
"I don't want to... Woo... I want daddy..." The little girl hugged his neck with her little face covered by tears and snot buried in his shoulders, staining his white shirt. Fortunately, Jeff Harris realized that he didn't care about it at all.
"This child is too young. I asked a female police officer to come over. She might be afraid of me." The vice-captain began to find a solution.
After the vice-captain left, the little girl was tired of crying. She curled up in Jeff Harris's embrace. Her small face was red because of sobbing. Jeff Harris pulled a piece of tissue from the table and carefully wiped her tears and snot for her. He wasn't aware that his movements were very gentle.
"Daddy... I don't want to leave Daddy, not at all!" The little girl emphasized, and she wrapped her arms tightly around his neck.
Jeff Harris explained helplessly, "Little girl, I'm not your father."
"You're my father." The little girl blinked her big watery eyes and said with certainty.
Jeff Harris started to become speechless. "Who told you I'm your father?"
"Aunt said it," said the little girl.
"Who is your aunt? What's her name?"
"Aunt is an aunt." The little girl tilted her head and answered him earnestly.
Jeff Harris laughed bitterly. It seemed difficult for him to ask something from this little girl.
