Chapter 213
Lizetta’s explanation came to an abrupt halt, feeling like she had a lump in her chest.
She and Remington had only just filed for divorce, and he couldn’t wait to spill the beans to Evelina?
Even though she was hell–bent on getting divorced, she didn’t expect to bump into the other woman as soon as the paperwork was in.
Shouldn’t she at least get the respect she deserved from Remington today?
“If you were so eager, you should’ve just agreed with me earlier.” Lizetta let out a sarcastic chuckle and walked away.
But Remington grabbed her wrist, “You think I invited them here?”
Lizetta said nothing and just yanked her hand back.
“Let go of me, we’re divorced. Mr. Dashiell. Show some dignity, please.”
But before she could finish her sentence, the man pulled her into his embrace.
“What the hell are you doing?”
Lizetta struggled as Remington, with a mischievous and slightly malicious tone, murmured in her
ear.
“Just a reminder, we’ve filed for divorce, it’s not final yet. And you, my dear, are still my wife!”
Lizetta gritted her teeth in frustration, unable to break free, and gave up struggling.
By then, Hanna and Evelina had already approached.
“Remington, are you two divorced?” Hanna tried to hide her glee, furrowing her brow with a facade of
concern.
Remington shot them a cold look, “How did you two get here?”
“I was heading back to the old house today and saw Cedric going back to get some documents. I was worried and followed him. Just then, Eve called me, all anxious, so we came together.”
Remington let out a scoff full of scorn.
Hanna’s face turned sour, clearly thinking Remington was mocking her.
But Lizetta knew that his scornful laugh was aimed at her, as the grip on her waist tightened.
She’d misunderstood him, and he was pissed. Lizetta didn’t want to provoke him further, she stayed
put in his arms.
Especially with Evelina so excited and eager, Lizetta didn’t want to give her the satisfaction.
“Remi, both of you should think this over, don’t act rashly. It’s not easy being a couple. Plenty of couples lack love but still support each other. Lizetta, is it because of me? You really got it wrong. there’s nothing between me and Remington, I didn’t mean to replace you.”
Evelina’s acting skills were top–notch, her eyes welling up, looking genuinely distressed as if she

was the one getting divorced.
Watching the two put on their act, Lizetta felt a mischievous urge and gave a small smile.
She let her body go limp and snuggled closer to Remington, wrapping her arms around his waist. interrupting Evelina, “I’m so touched, you guys. No worries, Remi can’t let me go. He was weeping in front of the mediator, begging me to stay, so we’re not divorced. I’ve decided to give Remil another chance.”
Evelina and Hanna’s expressions froze as if struck by lightning.
Lizetta burst out laughing, “Sorry, just kidding. Look how scared you got.”
Hanna was visibly angry, “Lizetta!”
Tears fell from Evelina’s eyes as she clung to her role, pleading with Hanna.
“Mrs. Hanna, Lizetta is mad at me, she’s just messing with me. Don’t be upset; if you get sick, it’ll be all my fault.”
