Chapter 302
The chill in Remington’s eyes was unmistakable, “Who did this?”
Evelina shivered for no reason and shrunk behind Hanna.
Lizetta’s gaze swept over them, and noticing Evelina’s guilty demeanor, she suddenly didn’t feel like leaving anymore,
With a smirk lifting her eyes towards Remington, she playfully curled her lips, pointed her chin at Evelina, and said sarcastically, “Her”
Remington’s cold gaze shifted towards Evelina. At that moment, Evelina felt her heart stop, a cold sensation rising from her feet
Struggling to keep herself upright, with her eyes turning red, she said, “Just now, Liz and Mrs. Hanna almost got into a fight, and I was
too anxious.”
Hanna frowned, shielding Evelina behind her, “Remington, it’s just a small scratch on her hand, why so delicate! Eve was almost pushed and could have miscared, and my wrist got bruised by her too. Eve was just protecting me, she’s the good one here!
Remington interrupted her rambling with a firm voice, “How did you find out about my hospitalization?”
He had made sure to keep his injury a secret and hadn’t informed the Dashiell family.
Evelina had begged Hanna over the phone not to tell Remington that she was the one who leaked the information
Hanna, with a stem face, replied, “Of course, I came to the hospital to visit Joseph and happened to see Cedric entering the hospital, that’s how I found out about your injury! Don’t hide things from me, your injury was because of Lizetta, wasn’t it? Remington, can you stop protecting this disaster? Hasn’t she caused you enough trouble? Eve is carrying your child.”
Remington cut Hanna off, “I’ll say it again, the child in her belly is not mine!”
He was adamant, leaving no room for doubt or further thought
Hanna was stunned, struggling to accept this fact, and angrily said, “Remington, how can you deny your own flesh and blood for Lizetta? If the child isn’t yours, why did you agree to the amniocentesis for paternity testing just a few days ago?”
Remington’s gaze tumed icy as he looked at Evelina, “Have I ever slept with you? Is the child in your stomach mine?”
The deep chill in his eyes and the oppressive look made Evelina’s face turn pale.
She hadn’t expected Remington to deny it so thoroughly.
She thought, until her child was safe, Remington would refrain from speaking the truth.
Hanna tumed around, anxiously urging Evelina, “Eve, say something! Didn’t you tell me the child was Remington’s?”
She had been counting on Evelina’s child for a bone marrow match for Joseph
Evelina’s body swayed, but under Remington’s cold and indifferent gaze, she dared not play faint or deceive any longer.
She felt that Remington had no more tolerance for her.
With her lips turning pale, she looked at Hanna with tears, in ber eyes and said, “Mrs. Hanna, I never explicitly said the child was Mr. Dashiell’s, you misunderstood.”
Seeing her look so pitiful and soft, Hanna felt a surger, her vision darkening.
Remington coldly said, “Mother, you claim you found out my jury because you are worried, yet you haven’t said a word of concern about my condition, just being a pawn quite efficiently?
Hanna’s face turned red and white in embarrassment, she turned back, “Remington, I didn’t mean that.”
She wanted to explain, but Remington wasn’t interested in hearing more.
He glanced at Ray standing not too far away, then back at Evelina.
