Chapter 328
Of course, there was no one else but him.
But before she could ponder further, the spot on her lower back where she had bumped into the comer of the table flared up in pain due to his sudden forceful movement.
Lizetta winced in pain, letting out a soft groan
“What’s wrong?” Remington’s expression changed instantly.
Lizetta reached for her lower back, “I bumped into the table comer back in the room.
Remington’s face turned grim in an instant, his voice laced with urgency.
“Bumped? Does it hurt a lot? Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere else? Why didn’t you tell me earlier!”
Without hesitation, the man bent down, scooped Lizetta into his arms, and started making his way swiftly towards the elevator
Lizetta was taken aback by his maction, urging him anxiously
“Put me down! You’re injured too, I don’t need this kind of attention. It’s just a little sore, not a stomachache, I’m really okay!”
But it was him, with his wounds on his torso.
It would be odd if his wounds didn’t split open with that kind of exertion.
Lizetta was frantic, and only after Remington triple–checked that she was truly alright did he finally set her down.
Back in the room, Remington’s wound indeed looked worse, the bandages stained with blood.
As she unwrapped the gauze, Lizetta finally saw the extent of the knife wound – even stitched up, it was a mess of blood and flesh, long and deep.
Her eyes instantly teared up, her heart aching for him.
“Mr. Dashiell, you have a rare blood type, and you refuse to use the hospital’s blood reserve, wanting to save it for those in more critical need. Please, take extra care of yourself!” the doctor said, removing his gloves with a serious frown.
Lizetta nodded, her gaze shifting to Remington in a reprimanding manner, only to find herself the subject of scrutiny the next moment. The doctor looked at her “Mrs. Dashiell, you need to cooperate. Although it’s admirable how much love you two share, please refrain from any strenuous activities.”
Lizetta, not fully catching on, nodded again, only to realize something was off.
Strenuous activities?
Love? Refrain?
Lizetta recalled how Cedric had walked in on her and Remington kissing, which seemed to be the same doctor’s interpretation, and her face turned beet red, shaking her head vehemently, but the doctor was already looking away.
Seeking help, she turned to Remington, who maintained his composure, even nodding at the doctor.
“Understood.”
Once the doctor left, Lizetta glared at him, annoyed.
“You’re banned from coming near me until we’re out of here!”
Seeing her face flushed red, Remington smiled slightly.
“No can do, come here, let me see your lower back.”
Lizetta didn’t budge, “It’s fine, the pain is gone.”
Her aversion made Remington chuckle, as if she was treating him like some big bad wolf.
He feigned a move to get off the bed, and Lizetta instinctively stepped forward.
Remington pulled her to the edge of the bed, asking her to sit with her back to him, then he lifted her shirt slightly.
Indeed, her right lower back was bruised, a mix of purple and blue, making Remington frown.
“How did it get so bad? i’ll go find some ointmentTM
Lizetta stopped him hastily, “No need, I’m always bumping and bruising from dance practice. Most ointments have some blood circulation properties, and its bad for Joy. Don’t bother, isti heal in a few days.”
Before she could finish, Lizetta felt a gentle, warm touch on the injured spot.
