Chapter 363
Remington stood there, his handsome face clouded with gloom as he watched Lizetta swiftly walking away with Yolanda.
Cedric approached, his eyes landing on the bright red lipstick mark on Remington’s crisp white shirt, his lips twitching uncontrollably.
“B–Boss, do you want me to bring your wife back?”
Remington’s icy gaze swept over him, his voice cold, “You find this funny?”
Of course, Cedric wanted to laugh. The boss’s predicament was enough to keep him amused for years. But for the sake of money, he dared not.
Cedric immediately shook his head.
Remington scoffed, a chill in his eyes. Just the sight of Cedric barely holding back his laughter added to his already sour mood.
“Laugh? Not at all, boss. I just think Mrs. Dashiell has quite the high standards. If she’s set you aside, probably no man in Zion City could catch her eye,” Cedric remarked, a bit of wisdom in his words.
Remington thought about the open adoration Hamilton had for Lizetta in the concert hall, and Jerome’s protection of her, which stoked his anger further.
But he felt Cedric had a point. If Lizetta wouldn’t settle for him, she certainly wouldn’t for anyone else.
“Forget it. Let’s just wait till she cools down,” Remington finally said, glancing down at the messy lipstick on his shirt, his expression slightly helpless.
“Boss, you’ve still got two important appointments at the office this morning that can’t be postponed. Maybe head to a hotel to freshen up and change clothes first?” Cedric suggested, knowing well that if anyone snapped a photo of the boss like this, it would be viral in no time, ruining his image.
Lizetta, in the car, had just confirmed her rehearsal with the dance troupe for the next day with Crystal. Hanging up, she leaned back in her seat, her gaze somewhat vacant as she looked out of the window.
“Maybe we should reschedule with Jenny?” Yolanda suggested, seeing her weariness.
They had planned to have dinner with Jenny that afternoon, but Lizetta seemed exhausted.
“No, I’m in a good mood today; let’s do it! Besides, I might not have much time once I join the dance. troupe.”
Owing Jenny had been on her mind for a while, and Lizetta felt it was long overdue.
They chose the Harvest Moon, a well–hidden private diner that Yolanda mentioned was all the rage recently, hard to get into without connections for a reservation.
Lizetta and Yolanda arrived first, with Jenny still on her way from a film set, bound to take a while.
Lizetta left their private room for the restroom and unexpectedly ran into Evelina and her parents, heading
her way.
Seeing Lizetta, Elara and Kevin immediately approached.
“Liz, what are you doing here? Don’t tell me Remington is here too?” Elara said, moving to push past
