Chapter 372
Dancing let her forget all the worries temporarily. So, when she left the dance troupe that afternoon, she felt as if she was floating on air.
Suddenly, a black SUV screeched to a halt in front of her, its door flung open.
Before Lizetta could react, two men in dark suits grabbed her shoulders and shoved her into the vehicle. The SUV sped off.
Lizetta panicked, trying to resist, but one of the men pushed her back down and snatched her purse.
After a moment of panic, Lizetta calmed down and furrowed her brows, “Are you guys with the Dashiell family?”
It was broad daylight, and they had just shoved her into a car in the middle of the street.
With
surveillance cameras everywhere, if someone was going to kidnap her, this was a bold move. Things
shouldn’t work like that.
So, she guessed these were the Dashiell family’s bodyguards. Was it Remington, that jerk, upset about her feeding him that soup, sending these goons to settle the score?
“Is it Remington or Hanna?”
“Just cooperate, Mrs. Dashiell, and you won’t get hurt. You’ll know soon enough.”
Hearing the bodyguard’s words, Lizetta knew it was Hanna. Forty minutes later, Lizetta was dragged into a hospital’s maternity ward and, sure enough, Hanna was there.
“Take her in for a check–up,” Hanna ordered the medical staff standing near her, and immediately a nurte came forward to pull Lizetta.
Lizetta was startled and glared at Hanna, brows furrowed, “What are you gonna do to me?”
Hanna snorted, “Why so nervous? Just relax, it’s a routine prenatal check–up.”
Lizetta didn’t buy it, “A routine check–up requires this much fuss? Let go of me; I’m not going in!”
She struggled to free herself from the nurse’s grasp.
Seeing this, Hanna scoffed, “We’re just doing an amniocentesis. Just cooperate, it’s not dangerous.”
With a signal from Hanna, Lizetta was forcefully dragged inside and pinned on the examination table.
The doctor approached to prepare, and Lizetta’s face paled as she started to struggle, “I won’t do it! Amniocentesis isn’t a standard prenatal test. You have no right to force me into this. Let me go!”
Maybe it was her fierce resistance, or perhaps Hanna needed to see the needle pierce Lizetta’s belly herself to be reassured.
Hanna stepped in, frowning, “I’m your mother–in–law, a family member. I’ve given my consent, so the procedure is happening. Lizetta, you’d better cooperate with the doctor to avoid getting hurt.
So many women undergo amniocentesis. What makes you any different? A girl with no family should just accept her fate. You, however, think you can defy everything because Remington spoils you. Stop being so dramatic!”
Lizetta was pinned down on the cold examination table, her clothes lifted to expose her still–flat belly.
