“ARE you sure about this, Zoe?”
Zoe turned around to face her mother. “It’s the best for us, mom.”
“You should ask or talk about everything about Helios—”
“Mom, please. I don’t want to hear more about it. Look,” she scans her eyes around their luggage, “—we’re already prepared. This is the best decision, mom. Do you want to get involved with their monkey business? Look how Don Lincoln encounters cruel people who even ambushed him. And who knows if they did the same with Helios—”

Soon as her mother left her room, she threw herself into the small bed, took a deep breath, and sighed loudly.
She stared at the ceiling as her mind traveled to Helios.

She smiled. Why is she wondering about it?
HELIOS, who just woke up, went wild when he couldn’t see Zoe. He dashed towards the kitchen and asked Nana Milky and the silence of the old lady already made him get the message.

“For now, Helios, respect Zoe’s decision. I like Zoe for you, but your situation is tough. Perhaps you can wait a little more.”

Nana Milky could feel the bed of emotions in Helios’s words. She then went closer to him. She lifted her head to meet Helios’s gaze.
“Don’t rush things, Helios, and wait for the perfect timing,” she said.
“MOM, why are you bringing too much?” Zoe asked when she saw her mother’s luggage. “Why do you even get those pans and—”
“I don’t want to buy new things since I need to earn money. Although you already graduated, I still wanted to work.”
Zoe smiled and hugged her mom.
“Mom, when we get there, I will go out and find a new job.”
Her mother glared at her.
Zoe arched her brow. “What?”
“Just take a rest, Zoe. Don’t pressure yourself. According to your aunt Millie, there are many vacancies in her town.”
Zoe smiled. “Then that’s great.”
“Yeah. Also, I already have work once we get there,” her mother said, making her eyes widen.
“For real?”
“Yes. So, you better give your best shot in applying, alright?”
Zoe smiled and nodded.
After a few minutes, Zoe and her mom decided to take a cab to the airport.
Zoe’s expectations didn’t come after an hour.
Helios didn’t come to see her. Guess that’s the way it is.
You just realize everything when it’s already its end.
It’s a common problem for every individual.
“Iris!” It was her aunt Millie’s voice that echoed while she was approaching them. “Oh, my goodness… is this Zoe already?” she added.
Iris smiled and nodded. “Yes.”
Millie went closer to Zoe. “Wow, you grew lovelier than your mother,” she said, making Iris shoot a glare at her.
“Welcome to California, sweetie,” Millie added.
Zoe smiled and said, “Thank you.”
Millie nodded and smiled. “Anyway, let’s have lunch outside since I didn’t cook anything…” she looked at Iris, “—I am not expecting your arrival since you told me that it’s for next week.”
Iris let out a soft chuckle. “I see,” she said sarcastically.
Zoe shook her head in disbelief. Now, it seems she will not have a peaceful life since her aunt Millie is too hyper like a teenager.
“Zoe…” her Aunt Millie called her, “there are many jobs offers this month. So, you’re lucky. I hope you can find a job quickly.”
Zoe smiled. “Of course, I will, Aunt,” she replied.
After a few scenes and moments at the airport, her Aunt Millie took them to a nearby restaurant.
Zoe knew that her Aunt Millie was a maiden since she didn’t want to marry. The woman also has a small business—a small café near her house.
