If this was any other time, her father-in-law Sean would have never come, neither would he dare to lash out at his son. But today, Sean had been fierce from the moment he showed up and Sabrina was confused as to what was happening to her father-in-law. However, whatever baffled her had now made sense. She thought back to the scene where her father-in-law puked blood before passing out that morning, could it be that he was faking it as well? They had been aiming to lead Sebastian away. She finally understood, this was a diversion, just like how one would lure a tiger away from the mountain.
She couldn't hold back her tears. What had she done wrong, for them to endlessly seek for her to repay over and over again! She had always been a child who was excellent in her studies while remaining modest. Her parents had been dutiful for their entire lives but what did they get in return? Her father died of illness, her mother had been imprisoned and was missing, while she was framed and sent into prison. Even then, she was used during her time in prison and became an unmarried woman with a child right after being released. She was then hunted down by her own father and forced into running for six years. It was only after that she and Aino had only been able to live half a year in peace. Just half a year! At that moment, i f she had a knife in her hand, she might just cave to the urge to stab all those people who tried to plot
against her. She clenched her fists hard as she was absorbed in her own thoughts.
The middle-age woman who was clinging onto her started shouting at the crowd. "Look, all of you! This is how vicious she is. She had been charged with manslaughter before and she continued to kill once again after she had been released. The man she was after was named Kenton Horst, an old man in his seventies, and she hunted him down. People like her are born with violent urges."
The woman in her fifties from a remote village was surprisingly sensible in her speech condemning Sabrina's crimes.
Sabrina remained quiet as more and more people gathered around them.
Many of them pointed at Sabrina with contempt. "Why won't they tie people like her up and save our society from chaos?"
"She looks frail, who knew she was actually a murderer?"
"Oh God, let's stay away from her..."
Sabrina did not respond. Kingston, who had been shielding her the entire time, had swiftly dialed Sebastian's number and the call was immediately picked up.
"Kingston, what is it?" "Bad news, Master Sebastian. Mrs. Ford is..." Kingston started, but was interrupted by sounds of people running, shouting and all sorts of background noises.
Someone shouted from the background. "Master Sebastian, Master Sebastian, your father-"
Kingston swallowed the words he was about to say, knowing that Sebastian had his hands full at the moment. Though Sebastian had never gotten along with his father, it was a whole other story when his father's life was hanging by the thread. After hanging up, Kingston raised his arms, shielding Sabrina behind him. "You want our Mrs. Ford? Bring me the warrant first!"
He barely managed to finish his sentence before Sabrina pushed him away. She didn't want to drag Kingston into this mess. He was innocent. She said to him, "Assistant Yates, please take care of my daughter."
"Mrs. Ford..."
She then turned to the police. "Can I speak to that elderly over there?"
The old Master Shaw had moved to stand in front of Sabrina at the time. "Speak."
She smiled bitterly. "So this is the trap you have set up for me?"
