Marcus approached the stray woman as he called her his aunt. The woman froze and turned her hazy eyes t o Marcus. The tears from her eyes flowed down her cheeks, washing the dirt away as they went. She looked at Marcus with blood-like tears falling from those eyes. In a hoarse voice, she asked, "Young man, what...did you just call me?"
Marcus stepped forward and held the woman's hands i n excitement. "Auntie, you are my aunt, right? You are not the child of my step-grandmother, but my actual grandmother. You are my aunt by blood."
His speech was unorganized due to his frantic state." But auntie, you were raised by my step-grandmother. The two of you were forced to move away from the Shaw residence and lived in a small house. In the year you turned eighteen, my step-grandmother told my grandfather that you are actually my grandmother's child. My step-grandmother, she was an incredibly talented person. I still keep her drawings with me till this day..." Marcus studied his aunt's expression, but most of her face was covered by her hair, and what little part of her face that was showing was covered in dirt, so Marcus could only see those hazy, dazed eyes.
More and more tears streamed down her cheeks. She looked at Marcus and whispered under her breath. " Who knew that there's still someone who remembers my mom and her drawings...?"
"Auntie!" Marcus fell on his knees. "You are my auntie..."
Behind them, the old Master Shaw was so shaken that he took a few steps backward. "You...are my...my daughter?"
Marcus lifted his head to look at the stray woman in both excitement and desperation, "Did you know that my...my parents, my three brothers and I have been looking for you everywhere, Auntie? My brothers have made countless trips overseas in search for you and m y parents travel around the country year-round to look for you. We have been looking for over thirty years now, Auntie. Back when you ran away from home, you were only eighteen years old, and now thirty-three years have passed and you should be fifty-one this year. Isn't that right, Auntie?"
Marcus called her "Auntie” over and over again, but the stray woman remained trapped in her own memories. She did not respond at first, but then reacted by shoving Marcus away fiercely and shouted sternly. "No! I am not your aunt. My life has nothing to do with the Shaw Family!"
They were stunned. She turned to stare at the old Master Shaw. "You old bast*rd! You set up a trap, didn't you? Just so that you can get your hands on my daughter's kidneys to save that wench you call your granddaughter?"
The old Master Shaw couldn't say a thing. He was observing the woman when Marcus called her his aunt, and he saw the way her expression changed. At that moment, the woman's eyes were filled with tears as she mumbled the words. "Who knew that there's still someone who remembers my mom?" That was no coincidence. Could it be that his daughter who had run away from home for over thirty years did not actually die during childbirth, like Lincoln had said? Could it be that the daughter that he had searched for over thirty years was still alive?
The old Master Shaw shivered as he looked at the stray woman in front of him.
The woman, however, was glaring at him as though he was her nemesis. "Old bast*rd! If you dare to touch my daughter at all, I will spend the rest of my life doing nothing but catching every opportunity I find to kill you! Not only will I kill you, I'm also going to kill that granddaughter of yours that you treasure and spoil so much!"
"You..."
The stray woman spat, and her stinking saliva landed on the old Master Shaw's face. "You want my daughter's kidneys in exchange for your granddaughter's health? You old bast*rd. You have lived so many years now, can't you grow a conscience?"
