"Lincoln Lynn! You are a monster who's supposed to die! My daughter had already been pregnant with Sebastian Ford's child at the time, but you ordered your illegitimate daughter to impost as my daughter t o meet with him! Do you even have a heart, Lincoln?? You could die a million times and even that wouldn't b e enough! Not only did you refuse to tell my daughter that the father of her child is still alive and right by her side, you tried everything you could to kill you over and over again! A father like you should be torn into pieces by a wild animal after death!"
Lincoln was extremely anxious and frustrated at being cursed at in such a manner. He desperately wanted to run, but more and more people were gathering around them, leaving him with no chance to escape at all. He could only stand and put up with the rant of the stray woman, i
Sabrina wanted to comfort her mother, seeing how she screamed at Lincoln with her hoarse voice. It had been nine years since she last saw her mother. Her mother was ragged so Sabrina had to take her to a shower so that she could get some rest.
"Mom, say no more. Let's just go home, Mom. You need rest, and your voice needs to be-" Sabrina shouted, her heart aching for her mother.
"I need to say this!" Her mother remained still. She
scanned every person in the crowd and glanced over a t the old Master Shaw, who was in tears. "Do you know how my voice got so damaged?"
Sabrina remained silent.
"I poisoned myself!" Sabrina's mother gritted out." Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to escape from the Lynn Family!"
Sabrina was shocked. "Mom, you...the Lynn Family... did Lincoln really imprison you?"
"Of course he did!" Her mother gritted her teeth in response. "That year when the mine collapsed, Lincoln was the first one who went looking for my body, because he couldn't rest until he could see the corpse with his own eyes. He searched for days but he never found my body, and that's when he started suspecting if I had truly died."
"Indeed, I wasn't dead. The day that incident happened, I had a stomach-ache for the entire day so I couldn't go down there to work and went to the doctor instead. When I went back from the hospital, the place had already turned to waste. I didn't manage to get my salary and I didn't have a place to go, so I ended up begging on the street. Until one day, I found out that Lincoln had hired people to look for me when I was begging on the street. I hid but in the end, I was left with nowhere else to run and Lincoln's men caught m e."
"At the time, I didn't know that you had been manipulated into getting pregnant, and the part where he wanted Selene to take your place. It wasn't until after they brought me back that they explained everything that had happened to you in detail to me. I cried so hard that I came close to fainting. Why is my daughter so unfortunate to have a father like that? Back then, you seemed to be doing fine with Master Sebastian. They were jealous and wanted their own daughter Selene to marry Master Sebastian instead. They plotted to threaten you with my safety, so that you would obey and let Selene take your place.
"Mom..." Sabrina sobbed. "Mom, you...so you really have been in South City all this time, right there in the Lynn residence, and yet I didn't have a clue. Mom... what kind of a daughter am I...I had been to the Lynn residence a couple of times back then, how could I not know that you were suffering right there and then?"
Seeing how upset Sabrina was, the stray woman smiled and lifted her filthy hand to wipe away Sabrina's tears. "It's okay, my baby girl. Mommy has suffered since the day I was born. I never get to enjoy the affection of my father. I've been discriminated against all my life, so I can take anything that comes m y way. I knew that they wanted to threaten you, so I mustn't stay in the Lynn residence. In order to escape, I" 4
She was interrupted by a velvety voice. "Mom...is that you?"
