"Oh...!" Startled, Lincoln jumped and fell onto the ground. He stared at the stray woman before him, terrified. "You are...you are not dead? How did you..."
She sneered. "Lincoln, you have underestimated me. I have been independent ever since I turned eighteen. I tried begging for meals, sleeping under bridges, and fighting over food against rats, wild cats and dogs. Back when I was sleeping alone underneath the bridge, I even fought off punks who wanted to molest me! How could I allow myself to be eliminated by you s o easily? Besides, I still have a daughter out here suffering, of course I can't be dead!"
"You..." At this point, Lincoln was completely in a state of dread and guilt, to the point that he couldn't seem t o say a word apart from "you" any longer. The fact that he ran into his first wife right outside Sabrina's house was enough to cause a total mental and physical malfunction to him.
"You tricked my daughter and sent her to prison all those years ago. In order to prevent me from overturning the result from the outside, you fooled me into working in a mine with no safety precautions whatsoever by telling me that I could earn over ten thousand dollars each month! I came close to being smashed to death there!" "What?? What did you just say, Auntie? You...you went
to work in a mine to make ends meet? The lady of the Shaw Family, working in a mine??" Marcus sobbed uncontrollably next to the stray woman.
She kicked at him, sending him rolling to a certain distance before yelling, "I'm not your auntie!"
Marcus turned around and stared at his grandfather, i n wordless bitterness.
The old Master Shaw, too, was in tears, but the woman did not spare him a look. She glared at Lincoln and continued, "That's what you want, right? To see me die in that mine? So that you can manipulate and use my daughter with no restrictions, right? Not only did you lie to her, but you sent her into prison in your illegitimate daughter's place. Even when she was in prison, you lied to her once again and told her that I was terminally ill so that you could manipulate her into sleeping with a dying man! Lincoln Lynn! Do you even have a heart? Or are you just a heartless beast?"
He remained silent.
"After that, my daughter became pregnant! A woman who came out of prison without a penny to her name, and pregnant! She ran to seek help from you and you chased her out like you would a stray mutt! Do you know how much I hate you? I want to skin you alive! Skin you alive!!" She screamed in tears. Her pained wails had touched the hearts of many. She continued t o shout, sobbing. "My poor daughter had nowhere to g o, with an unborn child without knowing who the father was. Lincoln Lynn, you damned monster! You knew that the man who spent the night with my daughter was alive, and later became one of the elites of South City, but you..."
Her own words reminded her again of her resentment and the stray woman picked the stick up from the ground, before swinging it towards Lincoln. The two officers beside them did not attempt to stop her. Who could turn a blind eye to her suffering at this point?
That strike almost broke Lincoln's calf, but the pain alone was enough to make him grimaced. The cries of the stray woman became louder and louder, and attracted more passers-by to stop and join the audience.
"My poor Sabrina who lost your father at the age of twelve. Mommy should have never sent you to your real father, it's my fault!”
