Everyone looked up in unison upon hearing the hoarse voice, and saw a woman in her fifties standing by the handles on the second floor. The woman was pale, likely because she hadn't seen sunlight for a prolonged period of time and the fact that her face had been covered with hair most of the time. There was a fine line in between her brows but that did not affect her beauty by the slightest, giving her a sense of maturity and dignity instead. Had the woman not called out to Sabrina, no one would have known that this woman in front of them was the same person as the stray woman before. Every single person was dumbfounded by the sight.
Marcus's father was the first to react. "Sis!"
Sabrina's mother did not respond and remained expressionless.
"Sis! You are my little sister! I've seen you a couple of times when we were young, so I can tell that you are m y sister with just one look!"
Marcus's father rubbed his hands together in excitement. It had been so many years, he had spent s o many years looking for his sister under his father's command. He had thought that he would never see his sister of the same parents again, but there she was right before his eyes.
The old Master Shaw stood up, overwhelmed by
emotions as he stuttered gingerly, "Gloria..."
Gloria was the name of the old Master Shaw's long-lost daughter. His daughter's full name was Gloria Shaw, a name decided by the mistress he didn't spare a second look at. His mistress had asked him where h e liked the name at the time, but he didn't pay much attention to it. It wasn't until the day that his daughter ran away from home and went missing, that the old Master Shaw finally remembered that his daughter was named Gloria. Therefore, when he called her " Gloria" at that moment, the name sounded awkward and unfamiliar on his lips. The old Master Shaw wasn't the only one, Marcus's parents had never called his aunt by her name. She had no place in the Shaw Family before she ran away from home, after all.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Shaw, but it's been a long time since I gave up the name Gloria. Probably for over thirty years now. It's Amelia, Amelia Yale."
The old Master Shaw paused for a moment before continuing, "But you are still my Gloria. You look much older than in the photo, but you still look like yourself. You are Gloria."
By then, Sabrina's mother had started her way down from the stairs. Sabrina had bought a mid-length beige cashmere coat for her mother, which was slightly oversized, but emphasized the alluring maturity with the help of a belt around her waist.
She came down, no longer as agitated as she was in front of Sabrina's door and had calmed down. She sat across the old Master Shaw, when Marcus suddenly stood and strode off. He then came back dragging Lincoln behind him after a short while.
Lincoln froze immediately when he saw Sabrina's mother. It had been over twenty years since he last saw her, but she hadn't changed much apart from growing old. Instead, she seemed even more beautiful than she was in the past, considering how dull she was at the time. He carefully called out to her. "Rmamelia..."
Sabrina's mother sneered as she glanced over to Lincoln. "What an honour to have you remember my name."
"Lincoln Lynn!" Marcus shouted. At the moment, he was far more frustrated at Lincoln than Sabrina or her mother was. "Didn't you say that my aunt is dead? Didn't you say that Selene is my aunt's daughter?
"Lincoln Lynn! You bast*rd! How dare you fool us all?? " Marcus's father landed a vicious kick on Lincoln.
