Just then, Lincoln's phone rang. His phone had been ringing for a few times, but with people watching his every move, he couldn't pick it up. In the dead-silent hotel lobby that Sebastian had paid to empty out, Marcus reached down into Lincoln's pocket and saw that the call was from Jade. Lincoln's face was as pale as it was humanly possible by then.
Marcus glanced over at the old Master Shaw and said,' Grandpa, you started this, you should be the one to answer this call."
The old Master Shaw took over the phone and answered the call, while Marcus helped to set it to speakerphone.
"Hello? Jade?" The old Master Shaw asked calmly.
Instantly, Jade's excited voice came from the other end of the line. "Hi, dad...dad...!"
Everyone, including the old Master Shaw, kept quiet awkwardly. Sabrina's mother couldn't help but chuckle bitterly in response.
The old Master Shaw flushed a crimson but somehow maintained his composure. "What is it, Jade?"
On the other side, Jade giggled. "How are things there, Dad? Everything is going smoothly, right? Has Sabrina been taken to prison? Dad, you need to hurry and do something so that Sabrina faces her sentence as soon
as possible, preferably an immediate death sentence. Your granddaughter has only a month left to live, you know, time won't stop and wait for us."
"Dad..." Jade kept calling the old Master Shaw "Dad" over and over again, to the point that both Sabrina and her mother could only force a bitter smile in response. Sabrina couldn't help but shed a tear, but as soon as it streamed down her face, she wiped it off stubbornly.
"How is Selene doing?" the old Master Shaw asked calmly.
