"Mommy, I want to play the piano for a while.”
The three-and-a-half-year-old little girl neither knew how to read sheet music nor could she play the piano. However, usually to coax a smile out of her daughter, she would hold her and sit in front of the piano, teaching her fingering techniques.
Every time she taught the child, she would tell her," Music can cleanse one's soul; it can also make that person happy.”
Perhaps the child took her words to heart but, in her subconscious, as long as she could play the piano well, then her father would be happy. Once her father was happy, maybe he might grow to like little Gloria?
That night, the three-and-a-half-year-old played the piano for two hours, looking like a solemn little pianist. Even though she was still so young, she caught on quickly.
Within six months, the four-year-old Gloria could already play a full song. It was called 'Little Bell'. She did not play it very well, but her performance had a childish sort of beauty.
The four-year-old little girl had a dream, and that was t o see her father again. She wanted to play the piano for him. This way, her father would grow to like her.
Very soon, Little Gloria's wish was about to come true.
One afternoon, Gloria was in kindergarten. The teacher got all of the kids to sit down, tuck in their shirts, wash their little hands clean, and smile. 1
Because a highly-respected man was coming to the kindergarten to visit them. No one knew who that man was, but all the children obeyed their teacher dutifully. Gloria was one of the most obedient students in the school.
