And the child! The little six-year-old child. She was so, so cute. The child called him Uncle Holden.
No! Why would fate play such a cruel trick on him! It was impossible! After leaving his brother and his sister-in-law, Holden slipped into South City alone. He did not plan on returning home alive. He was determined to question his birth father, Sean Ford, why! Why did he abandon his wife and sons? As for anything else, he thought he might as well die. It would be best if he died in South City. That was why h e was not worried if anyone called the police, and he was not afraid of making a big mess or attracting attention.
Without even bothering to turn back, Holden left Lily's room. Behind him, Lily roared in anger. "You, you don't even want to know my name?"
"Why would I want to know the name of a prostitute!"
Lily gaped at him. She supported her waist that was almost beaten into a pulp by Holden, and painstakingly put on her clothes, then drove away pitifully. Her face was still slightly swollen. She did not know where to go? But after the encounter with Holden and the painful beating she received last night, she suddenly realized something. In this world, besides Alex, no one else really took her to heart. Even the little-known Holden Payne took her for a
prostitute. This was indeed a slap in the face. A slap i n the face!
"Holden Payne, just you wait! Sabrina Scott, just you wait! I am Alex Poole's wife, the most powerful man in Kidon City, I will teach you to fear my might!" Lily swore to herself as she drove. 1
She then realized she was driving in the direction of Alex's summer house. Suddenly, she smiled wryly. In South City, besides his summer house, she really had nowhere else to go. And, besides Alex, there was no other man she could rely on. But lowering her head and looking at herself and her own face, Lily turned the car around and headed in the direction she came from. She found a women's clubhouse, showered, did a short slimming treatment, then asked the beautician to apply some ice on her face.
Within an afternoon, Lily returned to her bright, beautiful self. Even though her face was still slightly swollen, she could lie and say it was because she was beaten by Aino, Yvonne, and Ruth two days ago. With this thought, Lily left the clubhouse and drove straight to Alex's summer house without a second of hesitation.
She wondered if Alex was sober now. She wondered how he would treat her. But she was determined not t o leave him. Alex Poole belonged to her, no one could steal him away from her! Outside the summer house, right when Lily was about to park her car, she suddenly saw a dirty and disheveled figure crouching at the entrance.
Was he a beggar? That's weird, why would there be a beggar halfway up the mountain?
"Who are you?!" Lily asked sternly. The figure crouching beside the entrance slowly turned and looked at Lily with tearful eyes.
Lily sneered. "It's you, you're still alive? And you came uninvited?"
