Just like that, penniless and with no way to communicate with the outside world, she begged for food on the way. It had been half a month before she finally walked back to Alex's summer house.
Jane was a simple-minded woman. She did not hold o n to the hopes that Alex was still here. After all, half a month had passed. He must have returned to Kidon City with his real girlfriend, right? Besides Sabrina and a few of Sabrina's friends, she did not know anyone else in South City. She returned here because the servants knew her. All she wanted was to borrow some money from them, and change into some clean clothes, then she would find someplace to rest her head at night, and later on, a job.
If they were helpful, they might bring her some of her clothes. She had left in a fit of anger, without even taking anything. Jane looked pitifully inside, hoping a servant would walk out. But even in her wildest dreams, she never imagined the person she would meet was Lily, the woman who almost killed her.
"How dare you come back!" Lily crushed Jane's hand under her foot. Pain flared in her hand, but Jane gritted her teeth and endured it.
Lily knelt down and pinched Jane's dirty cheeks." Look at you now, if my man saw you, do you think he would kick you out like a stray dog?"
Jane's eyes were clear and calm, without any emotions. She did not look at Lily. Instead, saying in a calm voice, "I'm not here to fight with you over a man.
I just want some food to survive. My clothes...you won’t wear them anyway, please...throw them out for me, okay?”
Lily snorted. "It's been two weeks, do you think your clothes will still be here? Not only did I burn your clothes into ashes a long time ago, I sanitized the whole villa! You shameless woman! I was worried you're dirty! And that your germs will dirty the entire villa! i
Jane gradually closed her eyes. Did the heavens intend to kill her? Not even giving her a chance at survival?
Before she could react, Lily had already dragged her into her car. Jane had been starving for two weeks now, she barely even had the strength to speak, so she could hardly fight back against Lily and was pushed into the car. Fear and despair whirled in her chest." What are you doing, where are you bringing me?"
