Still Wanna Escape After Stealing My Heart? novel Chapter 1184

Selene shivered and turned her dazed eyes to look at the old man by the door.

"Grandpa...?" She called out, before darting towards him like he was her savior. "Grandpa, aren't you the person who loves me most?"

The old Master Shaw kicked her aside mercilessly. "I love my granddaughter, are you truly my granddaughter?"

Selene whimpered.

The old Master Shaw coughed and gritted out. "You knew right from the start that you are not my granddaughter, and yet you tried everything you could to impersonate my granddaughter! Not only did you d o that, but you and your family even went and got me t o help you out by hurting my actual granddaughter over and over again! Can there be a family crueler than the three of you on this earth?"

He paused and grinned, before continuing, "It has been so many years. How much sin have I committed against my conscience for you with my power? It was precisely my power that you people were aiming for, and indeed, I have just that. But have you ever thought that the power I used to help you in your plans to hurt my granddaughter over and over again, could be used on you as well?"

Selene gaped at the old Master Shaw. "Gra-Grandpa?" "I'm not your grandpa!" Behind the old Master Shaw's hoarse voice, was extreme calmness. "The kidney in you is the result of me searching all over the country through different sources, only to keep you alive.

However, keeping you alive doesn't mean you get to enjoy it."

Selene sobbed.

"Do you know that the medication you are taking is the first generation of medication launched over fifty years ago to fight off organ rejection? It can keep you alive, but the side effects are huge, beyond your imagination."

Selene fell onto her knees before the old Master Shaw and begged. "I've already gotten a taste of it, Grandpa, I can't sleep at all. As soon as I close my eyes, there are countless nightmares waiting for me, ones that I can't snap out of. The joints on my knees hurt so bad, Grandpa, I can barely walk. I can't eat anything at all. I'm always starving, but even if I force myself to eat, I will just end up throwing it out. I don't want the IV anymore, Grandpa, the skin on my arms is covered in bruises from the needles. Grandpa, please give them your order so that they stop monitoring me, and just let...me die."

Selene had had enough. She had lived a luxurious life and the thought of dying had never once crossed her mind, but then she was diagnosed with illness, and so she thought she would kill Sabrina in order to obtain her organs as transplants. Though in the end, she wasn't able to receive the transplant from Sabrina, she had gotten what she wanted. But she had never imagined that she would end up with a life that was worse than death. If there wasn't any other way, she might have been able to accept the reality as it was. Now that the doctor had informed her that there was better medication with minimal to no side effects, she was made to realize that she couldn't get it, but to accept her fate in spending every single day haunted b y nightmares and tortured by the pain in her joints. It was worse than death. She no longer wanted to live, and so she begged the old Master Shaw to let her die.

The old Master Shaw sneered. "You said that I am your grandfather, didn't you? I have more than enough money to keep you alive, so stay alive!" With that, he turned around and left.

"Grandpa..." Selene cried out before him, but the old Master Shaw did not look back.

Right after he left, Lincoln stepped in with both his hands tied up and heavy shackles chained to his legs.
