Sabrina was stunned when she heard the other party's voice. She thought she had heard it wrong, and then she stammered in excitement. "Ja-Jane, is that you?"
On the other end, Jane smiled. "Sabrina, what...what’s the matter? Why are you so excited? It...hasn't been that many days since the last time I called you, right?"
Sabrina was speechless. It was mainly because Sabrina had been in a hot mess the past few days because of Jennie and Lori, who had suddenly returned from abroad. She even almost tore her own marriage into pieces. So much so that after that incident, Sabrina actually had a feeling as if that was a lifetime ago. She also felt as if Jane had not called her for a long time. In fact, it had only been two weeks.
"Jane, you..." Just as Sabrina wanted to say something, Alex gave her a gesture. Sabrina then immediately looked at Alex.
Alex did not even think to find a pen or anything, and he just directly bit his own fingertip. After that, he wrote a few words with his finger on the blanket of the hospital bed. 'Don't let Jane know that I’m here and talk to her more.'
Sabrina nodded. Indeed! It was Jane who called every time, but she had never wanted to let Sabrina find her.
Over on this end, Sabrina relaxed her expression and said, "Jane, it's fine. In the past two days...well, I had a n argument with my husband, and we almost got divorced. Haha.”
Sabrina laughed awkwardly. However, Sabrina did not expect Jane’s tone to be surprisingly solemn on the other end of the line. "I just felt something was not right these two days. Sabrina, I've had the same dream yesterday and the day before yesterday."
Sabrina immediately asked, "What’s wrong, Jane?"
"I’ve had the same dream for two consecutive nights that you were bitten by mad dogs. I had clearly seen that it was two mad dogs that had bitten you. Also, they were not the usual kind of mad dogs. They were the kind of pet dogs that were very precious and tough. The two dogs had bitten you at the same time, and their owner also followed along and bullied you. Sabrina, why do you think I would have this kind of dream? I even had them twice. You have no idea how much I worry for you, Sabrina. Just tell me, are you truly fine? Look at me...I am not being hunted by Alex, and I can't go back to South City to give you a hand. Are you really fine?"
Sabrina was touched, her tears gushed down her cheeks. There was also a catch in her throat. Many people say that a woman's sixth sense was the strongest, and Sabrina has truly witnessed that today.
Jane was right. Sabrina had indeed been bitten by mad dogs in the past few days, and there were even two of them. They were two high end mad dogs dressed in fancy clothes.
Sabrina tried her best to suppress her emotions, and then she said to Jane after she had regained her composure. "Jane, I am fine... I really only had an argument with my husband in the past two days, but it's fine now. Are you alright?”
On the other end, Jane also breathed a sigh of relief. " It's good that you're fine. Sabrina, did you know? I actually don't have many friends. I just don't have any true friends. When I was with Mr Poole back then, everything was just an act. Even if everyone respected me, it was all for the sake of Mr Poole. I'm just a maid t o Mr Poole. The only people in the world who truly treated me with sincerity were you and your daughter, Aino.”
