"Die now! Get beaten to death by Alex! That lover of yours, too! Die, both of you!" Lily cursed viciously.
Out on the streets, the area had been temporarily blocked, leaving only Alex's subordinates at the scene; for those who were still curious about what was happening, they could only peep out the gaps of their doors.
On the street where the bone-chilling wind blew, Alex, Jane and Noah, who was lying on the ground, along with Alex's subordinates who surrounded them, were the only people left. Everyone heard Jane when she called Alex ‘Hubby’ loud and clear.
These men knew their master best and could tell that Alex was truly enraged and, most importantly, insanely jealous. At that very moment, Garrett was one of the people who worried about Jane most, but what good was worrying? His master had never hesitated to take lives. Alex's lack of mercy was comparable to that of Sebastian of South City. Alex was also a man that slayed his way out of hell; taking one single life would have been easier than slaughtering a chicken, which was why Garrett could only worry about Jane in his heart and watch as Alex continued to question Jane, red-eyed.
"Woman, so you still know that you called me ‘Hubby’, then? There isn’t another woman as heartless as you
are in the entire world! You have been by my side for seven years, seven whole years! I took care of all your needs and took you with me everywhere I went. You are the only one who managed to bear children fathered by me, only you! It's only been four months and you have completely forgotten about me! With just four months, you decided that this man deserves your love to the point that you are willing to sacrifice yourself and the unborn child in your belly, only to protect him? Jane Sheen, you are tearing my heart apart, you know that? How could anyone be as hurtful as you? You keep claiming that I'm here to kill you, but what proof do you have to suggest that? You are the one who hadn't held back one bit, sending each one of your words flying like blades aimed at my heart! Do you have any idea on how vicious you are? There couldn't be a woman as vicious as you are!"
Jane was so shocked that she even stopped crying. She looked at Alex bitterly with a smile and asked," I'm vicious? I'm tearing your heart apart?"
"Am I wrong? What do you have to say to argue with that?" Alex retorted.
Jane lifted her chin to gaze up upon the sky and sighed a long breath. Her tears gathered on Alex's palm, forming a small pool.
"Alex Poole!" she called out to him abruptly, as though she was determined to let it all out. "The first time I saw you, you rescued me and punished my brother-in-law. Ever since then, I fell in love with you. I was bullied and imprisoned by my own family and had never learned what it was to feel secure. It was you who set me free! You will never know how much I love you! I know that you are always on that high horse of yours, that you are pretty much royalty in Kidon City. I've known from the start that if I want to stay by your side to love you, I need to lower myself and abandon all pride and longing for a title! In order to love you, to just see you for even one more second each day, I have reminded myself to know my place every single day. I fulfilled all duties as your maid. I washed your clothes, washed your hair and your feet for you. I've done everything that an ordinary maid would! At night, I entertained you between the sheets; I managed your household; remembered your parents' birthdays; made arrangements for all appointments with your family and friends; and even helped to care for your subordinates. Everything that was the duty of a wife, I've fulfilled each one of them as well! Not just as a maid and a wife! Alex, I've never missed a single gathering that you attended, and have I ever made you look bad? All that money that you would have needed t o spend on hiring an escort has been replaced by having me around! I used to think that maybe I was slightly different from the others in your heart. I would have been satisfied even if I was just slightly different, and wouldn't have blamed you even if you didn't leave me a place in your heart. But then your exgirlfriend who you've not seen for ten years showed u p, and you tossed me out without a single warning. I couldn't even gather my belongings before you went and chased me out. But have I blamed you for it? Have I even complained about it? Did you even spend a moment thinking back to when I called you 'Hubby' between the sheets when you chased me out without a word?"
