Holden's satisfied voice could be heard coming from the other end of the call. "Sabrina. My route is now unobstructed. When are you coming over?"
"Where's Aino?" Sabrina asked.
Holden immediately called out cheerfully. "Aino, come over quick. Your mom's on the phone."
Sabrina then heard the sound of Aino running over to the phone. After Aino answered the call, Sabrina could hear the little girl panting.
"Mom, what are you doing?" Aino's voice was extremely cheerful. It sounded like she was very happy.
Sabrina suppressed her overwhelming emotions and desire to cry. She asked Aino calmly, "Tell me, are you having fun being with your uncle?"
"Uncle Holden is even nicer to me than Dad is. He bought me a fighting robot that is twice as tall as me, Mom. I can't even climb on it. I like this robot too much," Aino immediately said.
Sabrina felt slightly relieved. "That’s good."
"Mom, you don’t have to worry about me. I want to stay with my Uncle Holden and play for a few more days. When I am missing you and Dad, I will give you a call. Both of you don't have to worry about me. I am
having fun and very happy being here with Uncle Holden. Mom, I'm going to hang up. I want to go play with that robot." Aino hung up the call without waiting for her mother to say anything else. She seemed indifferent, and she ran back to the side of that robot in her onesie.
The robot that Holden bought for her was very big. It was two meters tall, and it was truly very spectacular. Aino liked it very much. She sat in front of that robot, raised her head and looked at Holden. "Uncle Holden, can you not call my mom in the future? My mom is becoming more and more of a nag now. I want to play with you here for a while, and I don't want my mom to bother me. Is that alright, Uncle Holden?"
In order to not frighten Aino, Holden did not tell Aino that he was using her to blackmail her parents. In fact, Holden indeed cared for Aino, and he loved her like his own child. When he heard Aino begging him like that, Holden instantly became softhearted. "Aino, if I don’t call your mother, I’m afraid that your mother will worry about you. Your mother is now eight months pregnant, and she can't afford to have any mishaps."
Aino pouted. "Oh, I know that, Uncle Holden."
"However, I can make it up to you in other ways. Tell m e, what else do you want?" asked Holden.
Aino tilted her head innocently. "Uncle Holden, is what you said true?" "Of course!" "Haha! I want my dad!” Aino said with an extremely innocent smile.
Holden was speechless. For a moment there, he wanted to crush this child! He treated her so well, bought her everything, and spent more time with her than her father, but she still missed her father! D* mned! What an abomination! However, Aino did not see the evil that flashed by Holden's face. On the contrary, she put her little head in Holden's arms.
That made Holden suddenly feel a kind of unexpected flattery and his heart was instantly melted. 1
"Uncle Holden, do you know? My dad is truly annoying! I haven't seen my dad for almost a month. Every day when I woke up, he was no longer at home, and I didn't see him coming back every night before I fell asleep as well. I truly miss my dad very much, Uncle Holden..." The little girl actually cried while saying that.
Holden was slightly caught off guard. He did not know how to comfort Aino who was crying. Aino laid in her uncle's arms. "Uncle Holden, you and my dad are twins, but why are you so nice and why is my dad so annoying? I hate my dad. I hate him!"
