Holden suddenly smiled. He understood why the little girl said she wanted to see her father when he said he would grant her a wish just now. That was because she had not seen her father for a very long time. She missed her father but she was also annoyed at him. She even hated her father. Holden felt very happy. It was great that Aino hated her father. As long as Aino was willing to hate her father, then Holden would be able to walk into Aino's heart easily. That was the best opportunity for him at that moment. The more her father was distant from Aino, the nicer Holden had to treat her. Besides, being nice to Aino was originally the most important thing to Holden.
"Don't cry, Aino. Don't cry, baby. Alright? Your father and I are twins, so I can make it up to you for all his mistakes, alright? Don’t hold it against your father as well, alright? Your father can't accompany you, so let me accompany you in his place. Alright?”
Aino instantly stopped crying and smiled. "Uncle Holden, is what you said true?"
"Of course! I am a man of my words."
Aino immediately smiled. "Then can I not want my dad anymore? I just want you, Uncle Holden!"
"Of course!" Holden was incredibly happy. He thought that he had finally succeeded. "Aino, tell me, what do you want?"
Aino thought about it for a moment. "I have all my toys at home. My stinky bum dad didn't really accompany me, so he bought me toys every day. However, he also had never taken me out to play. I knew very little of the streets and alleys of South City H
Hearing Aino saying that, Holden could not help but ponder. He had to take Aino out no matter what. He had to bring Aino up and never ever let her meet Sebastian again. Since he was already going to take Aino away, then he should just let her take another look at this city. In the future, he would be Aino's guardian, the person who loves her the most, and he would be her father figure. Therefore, it was only natural for him to fulfill his daughter's wish. He swore that he has to treat Aino and Sabrina better than Sebastian. He swore!
Holden hugged Aino. "Baby, I can fulfill everything that your father could not do. I will take you to the amusement park tomorrow and take you through all the streets and alleys in South City.”
"Really, Uncle Holden?" Aino was incredibly surprised.
Holden nodded. "Of course it's real! I will never lie to you."
"Uncle Holden, you're really nice. You're a hundred times nicer than my dad. I want to give you a thumbs u p and a heart reaction," said Aino. 1
Holden did not understand. "What is a heart reaction?”
"Hahaha, Uncle Holden, you’re so outdated. Squat, Uncle Holden, squat. Squat a little lower,” requested Aino.
Holden then squatted next to her. Aino gently pecked Uncle Holden’s forehead, and then said smugly, "This i s a heart reaction.”
Holden's heart melted in an instant. He took a look at the time. "Good girl. Go to sleep. Little children shouldn't stay up late. If you stay up late, you will not grow taller."
Aino said good night to Holden. "Good night, Uncle Holden." After that, she went to the nursery that Holden had prepared for her at the last minute.
"Good night, my baby Aino."
"Good night, Uncle Holden." Aino instantly switched off the lights of the nursery right at the moment she closed the door. She quickly climbed into bed and curled herself up. The tears started to gush down her face. She hugged her knees with both her arms and muttered in a voice so soft that only no one could hear it. "Dad and Mom, don't worry about me! I have a way t o escape. Dad and Mom, I am very brave. I miss you so much." Aino sobbed softly in the nursery.
