"I just never imagined that he would..."
"I know. I understand." Zayn smiled. "You are not in love with Nigel, and you most certainly wouldn't fall i n love with me either. Sabrina, trust me when I say I have no intention of making you fall in love with me. I am the one who has been charmed helplessly by you and so, I am willing to do anything for you. Rest assured, I will never do anything to harm you or force you into doing what you are not willing to, ever."
"Thank you, Zayn. I will take care of you," Sabrina promised, in tears. She was a woman of her words and for the rest of Zayn's time spent in the hospital, she never once left his side. Sabrina had also tossed his phone away as he requested. Even so, when Zayn was finally discharged a month later, they found it.
A few men surrounded them by the entrance of the hospital and dragged them towards their vehicle. The two were helpless, Zayn barely recovered from his injury and Sabrina being pregnant. They were thrown into a black minivan. Zayn and Sabrina were gagged a s they were brought to the edge of a cliff.
"People will remember today as the day you died!" A man in black shades said emotionlessly. 1
Sabrina trembled in fear and Zayn held her close in his arms before gathering the courage to ask, "You want us dead? Fine. But at least tell us who is behind
this." "Don't you have any idea whose wedding you ruined?" the man asked, and with that, he Lasted a look over to the other men that were standing beside him. Six hulking men proceeded to drag Sabrina and Zayn over to the edge before tossing them down like rag dolls.
"Ah!!"
"Zayn!" Sabrina cried out as she fell. The men that were standing atop the cliff drove off in cold blood, rushing to report back to their client back in the South City to collect the remaining balance of their payment. What they did not notice, however, was that both Sabrina and Zayn landed on a small truck. It might be God's will that Sabrina was not to die that day. The truck was loaded with thick fluffy wheat that was two meters tall. Sabrina felt no pain when she landed but instead, felt as though she had landed on clouds.
A month later, they had moved to a remote country that was far from the city. Sabrina enjoyed the isolation from those who wished to harm them. The only regret she had was to not be able to pay a visit to her mother's grave back home. Regardless, she had to play the hand she was dealt with her pregnant belly growing bigger as days went by. Zayn took Sabrina to a Maternal Health Center for registration as soon as they had settled in. When the doctor ran the first check on Sabrina's condition, they were relieved to find that the fetus showed strong vitality and was healthy, despite Sabrina's close-to-death experience.
Months went by as they paid regular visits to the center for checkups. Sabrina had adapted comfortably living in the small county. Half a year went by within a blink of an eye and Sabrina was soon expecting.
One morning, she was watering the plants in the garden at the bottom of the hillside when she was suddenly overwhelmed by the sharp pain from her stomach. She called Zayn immediately. "Brother, I think I'm in labor."
