"Leo's grandparents are generous donors who sponsored over two hundred thousand dollars to this kindergarten, they are..."
"So basically you are saying," Sabrina interrupted Miss. Wais, slightly irritated, "that if we refuse to apologize, my daughter will be forbidden to continue her study here in this kindergarten?"
"I'm afraid..." Miss. Wais replied as she struggled to find the right words. "I'm afraid it won't be that simple. Even if Aino drops out, she will still...have to apologize."
"What for?" Sabrina raised her voice.
"Ms. Scott, you have to understand that your daughter i s the one who hit her classmate first," said Miss. Wais.
"I request to see the footage!" Sabrina was furious. In the past five years she had been in this country, she had never caused any trouble and had devoted herself to her job. She might have seemed like a sincere and truthful person who was more than willing to compromise, but the one thing she would not tolerate was for anyone to bully her daughter!
"If we watch the footage and it really is my daughter's fault, I will apologize," Sabrina promised with determination in her voice.
"Fine! Do it, then! Let her look at the footage!" the
obese man demanded, and so Miss. Wais had no choice but to proceed with inspecting the footage of the surveillance cameras.
What they found afterward was precisely what Sabrina had anticipated. Leo was the one who started mocking Aino by saying that she was a fatherless child with a mother who had been in jail, that her mother worked at the construction site like men, and that someone was lowly as Aino had no right to study i n this kindergarten. 1
The kindergarten they were studying in was an elite kindergarten sponsored by Leo's grandfather, and in Leo's words, little skank like Aino were not accepted here. Provoked, Aino caught Leo by surprise by punching him in the nose so hard that he bled. Miss. Wais immediately took Leo away to wash the blood off afterward.
The couple had no clue that their son had bled from the fight prior to viewing the footage and as soon as they realized it, the obese man stood abruptly from his chair in anger.
"The two of you are going to get on your knees right now and apologize to us, or I am going to make sure you don't walk out of here in one piece!" he barked furiously in contempt, while his wife fawned over their son, checking if there were any other injuries. No one seemed to have noticed that Aino had tip-toed her way to stand behind the obese man and had his chair pulled to the side, just in time for him to sit back down after he was done with shouting.
Baam! The man landed on the ground so hard that he could only squeak in pain. Sabrina couldn't help but to chuckle at the sight and she quickly stopped herself. She looked steadily at the couple and their son Leo calmly, and said, "Now that I've checked the footage, w e all know that it's your son who verbally insulted my daughter first. A child like that has no manners at all, s o I suggest that you take him home and see to it that h e is taught better. My daughter shouldn't have hit him, so I will do the same. Goodbye!" With that, she took her daughter's hand and turned to leave.
