Mile thought that she was dreaming. She pinched her cheek as hard as she could and it was actually painful. This was real?
"You…what did you just call me just now? You called me Yvonne?" She sat up and looked incredulously at Marcus.
Marcus immediately put Mila in his arms. He was so worked up that he had a lump in his throat. "Yvonne. You're my Yvonne. I called you Yvonne. Just hit me and scold me!"
"You…are you really acknowledging that I'm Yvonne?" Mila's tears instantly gushed down as if the dam had been broken.
Marcus' tears were gushing down as well. "You're my Yvonne. You're simply my Yvonne…"
Yvonne instantly sobbed out loud. Her voice was very loud and very rough. However, she simply could not hold back anymore and cry inconsolably. Marcus hugged her and wiped her tears away for her.
Yvonne immediately pushed Marcus away and used every ounce of her strength to shout, "Fuck off! Get the hell away! I hate you! The person I hate the most in this life is you! You hit me, you scolded me, and you even kicked and broke my ribs. I hate you! Fuck off!
"You kicked my ribs! You hit me! I don't want you anymore! I don't ever see you again in this life. You beat me up so badly! Your damned cousin, Ruth, as well. All of you beat me up so badly! I won't ever forgive all of you in this life! I want to get a divorce from you! Divorce! Divorce!"
Mila vented and cried hysterically. She cried with so much grievance like a child. It had been so many years. She was finally getting a happy ending after all the suffering, right? Her husband was finally willing to acknowledge that she was Yvonne, right? But why was she crying? Humans were just like that sometimes. Everybody had moments where they felt aggrieved. However, who could they vent their grievances to? Strangers? People who did not care about you at all? Even if you were extremely aggrieved, you would not want to vent to people like that. What did they have to do with you? What did you have to do with them? There was no way to vent. It was only when you were facing your family and your lover that the kind of grievance you felt would be tremendous.
At that moment, Mila…no, it was Yvonne. At that moment, Yvonne was truly feeling tremendously aggrieved. She had been back to South City for so long. Again and again, she wanted to approach her husband. She has already put herself in the most humble and lowly position, but her husband still ignored her. She has already exhausted every way to please her husband. What she got in return, however, was her husband beating and kicking her. When she was being beaten and when her ribs were broken, she was in so much pain that she almost fainted. However, she still looked at Marcus with an ingratiating gaze. At that time, she did not feel anything. At this moment, she was feeling hateful. She just felt like crying.
"Just go on and cry. I know you've been aggrieved for a very, very long time. I know. Just crying in my arms. When you're tired from crying, just sleep. When you wake up, I'll buy you delicious food and you can eat all you to your heart's content. It's only after your body has recovered that you can have the strength to hit me. Just cry your heart out!" Marcus muttered while feeling sorry as hugged Yvonne.
At one moment, Yvonne pushed him away aggressively. At the next moment, she rushed into his arms and cried at the top of her lungs. She cried, and she punched and hit him.
She kept shouting. "Marcus Shaw, you're a jerk! You're a jerk! You're a jerk!"
