Marcus was left speechless.
He didn't know how to console the girl standing in front of him and could only share her pain in his heart. Right at that moment, it started to rain, as if on cue.
The rain grew heavier within a few seconds .
Sabrina raised her arms to protect her head from the rain, but Marcus immediately pulled her into the building lobby on the first floor.
As the two steadied themselves, Marcus took out his cell phone and dialed a number. "Cindy, come help me bring the documents up."
Sabrina said nothing.
Wasn’t Marcus planning to go upstairs? Why would he call someone down here to come pick up his documents?
Shortly after, a beautiful woman in professional attire and high heels arrived at the lobby. Marcus then passed the woman some files and instructed, "Tell your director that I won't be going upstairs. There’s some matters that I have to attend to here."
"Yes, Director Shaw," replied the woman with a smile before heading back upstairs. 1
Marcus turned his attention towards Sabrina again.
Where are you going now? I'll send you there."
Sabrina did not know how to respond. She wanted to return home.
After a slight pause, she started speaking again." There's no need for that, Young Master Shaw. I can go there by myself."
Marcus smiled. "Are you heading to Sebastian's place ? Are you that afraid of him?"
"...He actually treats me very well," replied Sabrina.
Marcus smiled at her answer. "Then what are you worried about?"
Sabrina could only smile back at him.
After hearing what Aino said to her over the phone, Sabrina had felt very uneasy. She wanted to return home as soon as possible to find out what had happened to her daughter. Life for this little family of theirs had never been easy in the city, so Sabrina did not want her daughter to cause any more trouble.
