"And let me tell you, your mediocrity is almost painstaking to watch!" Seeing that Linda was rendered speechless. Ryan mercilessly proceeded, " You are going to be Sabrina's assistant from now on! Accept it or hand in your resignation immediately!"
"I'll...1'11 accept it," Linda muttered. What other choice did she have? If words were to get out on how she had gotten herself fired and chased out by Ryan because o f a mistake she made in her project, she would never find another job in the architectural field outside of this company. All eyes were on her, she bowed her head in resignation at Ryan's scolding. The office was filled with people that were highly adaptable to changes and immediately looked over at Sabrina with respect and started fawning over her. Some even started showering her with words of praise. 1
"Congratulations, Head Designer Scott. Do take good care of us from now on."
"Oh, Head Designer Scott, your skills at handling incidents were simply beyond this world. We have so much to learn from you, we are so sorry for the trouble we have caused you today."
"Head Designer Scott, allow me to assist you with clearing out and prepping the station for you." "Linda, hurry on and get your staff out of the way!"
"Yeah, get on with it already!" "Head Designer Scott, please just take a seat over there. You won’t have to move a finger, I am going to gather up your belongings and bring them over!"
Both Sabrina and Linda were dumbfounded for a moment at the sudden change of attitudes of the people around them.
"It's okay, I will make the arrangements myself, I am just here to work, nothing really matters as long as everyone can work together to achieve the best result possible," said Sabrina in a neutral tone. She then turned to look at Ryan. "Thank you, Master Ryan. I will do my best to be worthy of the pay this company is offering me. Linda excels in certain ways that I might fall short of, so I look forward to working together so that we could provide one another with different perspectives."
Sabrina's words had indirectly helped Linda regain her confidence and she uttered shyly, "Thank you, Sabrina."
"You're welcome," replied Sabrina calmly, before moving to gather her belongings.
Ryan stood by the door of the Design Department and studied Sabrina in her elements. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully at her ability to remain composed and unaffected despite circumstances.
A woman like that was beautiful, both inside and out. I t was a form of beauty that was peaceful yet powerful a t the same time. Ryan had noticed some time ago that Sabrina was dressed dully on purpose as an effort to conceal her beauty, but the more she tried, the more Ryan found himself drawn towards her.
That evening as everyone was heading home, Ryan intentionally parked his car right in front of the entrance and waited for Sabrina to come down. She might have rejected him, but that was not a reason for him to give up his pursuit. Employees began to leave i n batches. Yvonne went to Sabrina's floor and waited for Sabrina to pack before going downstairs arm-in-arm with Sabrina. The two almost immediately spotted Ryan at the entrance, who was grinning from ear to ear with a gigantic bouquet in his hand.
"Sabrina, please allow me the pleasure to take you out for dinner. Would you do me the honour?"
Sabrina did not respond immediately because she distinctively saw the black limo that was parked at the crossroad not far behind Ryan. She decided to respond honestly and said, "I'm sorry, but my husband is here to pick me up."
