Yvonne turned to look at Sabrina in disbelief. "Sa-Sabrina...are you...is what Ms. Poole said true? You are the prison that Sebastian Ford dragged back that everyone in the South City has been talking about for the past two months?"
An excruciating pain pierced through Sabrina's heart for being exposed in public. It felt as though she was stripped naked for all eyes to see and she simply couldn't find her voice to respond to Yvonne's question. She wasn't about to tear the wound open herself.
Sabrina stood quietly as the light in her eyes faded, while the office erupted into heated discussion.
"Oh my god! So it was her?"
"The two of us were just talking about the woman Master Sebastian brought back in the elevator on the first day she showed up to work, she was standing right next to us! She knew that we were talking about her and still she managed to not say a word about it, what a scheming skank!" One of the women who had gossiped about Sabrina sneered, with no remorse concerning the fact that she was spreading rumors but instead blamed Sabrina for hiding her true identity. 1
"She wouldn't have been about to seduce Master Nigel, then Master Zayn and moved on to Master Shaw if she
wasn't a scheming skank, there were even rumors that said she once slept with a seventy year old and tried serving a dozen men in the same room..."
"I heard that she used to live in the slum where women just sell themselves as a living..."
Instantly, everyone was immersed with the gossip they had heard about Sabrina. Yvonne's eyes darted from one person to another anxiously as she continued to stand in front of Sabrina protectively.
"A little birdy told me that Master Sebastian dragged her back here specifically for the purpose of making her serve different men."
"I saw it with my own eyes!" One of the employees shouted excitedly, "I went to take my driving lesson with my boyfriend that day and we saw her serving a man dressed like a trainer from outside of the driving school." She showed everyone a photo that she took as proof where Sabrina's silhouette was distinctively captured, while the man in the trainer outfit had his back facing the camera.
"Oh my God, so she is really selling her body!"
"A streetwalker! No wonder Master Ryan's Aunt decides to take it upon herself to teach you a lesson! Prisoners like you should be torn apart and burned to ashes so that we don't catch anything from you!"
Suddenly, Sabrina was facing verbal attacks from each direction and all strength was drained from her. This was merely the first step of what Emma had in
store for her, but to stand in a room with people condemning her or toying with her like she was a puppet felt overwhelmingly torturing, so much so that Sabrina could no longer feel anything. The muscles on her face were stiffened to a point where if Ruth was to slam the shoes on her, she wouldn't feel a thing.
Numbed, Sabrina looked at Emma and asked in a hoarse voice, "Ms. Poole, you can see that I've been obedient and I don't intend on fighting back in any way, could you at least tell me why? What exactly did I do to you? Is this really about Ryan Poole? I don't buy i t! Or is it because of Serene Lynn? That makes even less sense! I just want to know why, okay?" 1
Emma was taken by surprise for a moment at the question. Sabrina was no fool, indeed. So why was she so vicious against Sabrina?
