Everything could be traced back to Sebastian. Emma had been the first woman to have ever been romantically interested in him back when he was still exiled. She fell so deeply in love with him that she could die for him, but Sebastian never paid her any attention. Her pursuit soon escalated into an abnormal obsession yet still, he refused to even look her way. That was when her love towards the man had transformed into a twisted hatred towards any woman that came close to him. Six years ago, Emma had harboured the same level of malice against Serene. But when she snuck her way into the South City fully intended to stab Serene to death, she heard news that Sebastian was not interested in Serene to begin with. She also discovered that Sebastian's mother was suffering from critical illness and was near the end of her life. Knowing just how merciless a man Sebastian was, Emma immediately decided that i t was best that she avoid showing herself before the man and to retreat back to Kidon City. Soon after, there was news that Sebastian had withdrawn the engagement with Serene at the wedding and Emma was literally jumping with joy. Her hatred against Serene naturally vanished across time. 1
Since then, Serene had visited the Kidon City numerous times, with the old Master Shaw and they were welcomed as guests each time by Emma's father. Her father Axel Poole used to work under the old
Master Shaw and was promoted by the old Master whenever the chance presented itself, which was why Axel and his family remained respectful towards the old Master Shaw up until the present. The connection between two families had introduced the unmarried second daughter of the Poole family to Serene.
Though Emma did not think much of Serene, she had t o maintain a certain level of civility with the granddaughter of someone so important to their family.
It wasn't until two months ago when Emma first came to hear from Serene that Sabrina was back, and she could hear her heart shattering at the news. Twisted a s the love she had for Sebastian may be, she was also a woman who was just as vicious and ruthless. She had always known that Sebastian did not have any feelings for Serene, but Sabrina who already was the mother of Sebastian's child was different. Emma could not tolerate the existence of any woman who bore Sebastian's child in this world! She was determined to have the woman killed in the most excruciating manner.
Moreover, it was Sabrina who ruined her sister Autumn's plan a week after being captured by Sebastian. That was the time when Autumn and her family had just returned and was trying to find their way into Sebastian's business circle. Their effort was sabotaged by Sabrina in the end that had not only caused public humiliation for Emma's brother-in-law, her sister's best friend Aire's career was destroyed along with it. With everything that had happened,
Emma was itching to make Sabrina suffer. She was no coward like Serene and Mindy, so when she said she was going to destroy Sabrina, she meant every single word. 1
"Sabrina, this isn't the end for you just yet, I will be sure to tell you why on the day you meet your death!" And with that, Emma turned to bark her order at Ruth. "Ruth, smash this home-wrecker's face and take revenge for your cousin! Take revenge for my best friend Serene!"
"Ms. Poole, I...I can't do it."
"What a loser!" Emma spat on Ruth hatefully and Ruth was so intimidated that she couldn't bring herself to wipe it off.
"How about I do it for you?" Linda smiled carefully at Emma. To her, this was a one-in-a-lifetime chance to appeal to the second lady of the Poole Family. Apart from that, Linda had more reason to hate Sabrina and this was her opportunity to get revenge.
Linda took the shoes from Ruth's hands forcefully and began to step towards Sabrina with a ferocious grin.
"Sabrina, you need to run!" Yvonne shouted, but Sabrina refused to move.
Just as Linda raised her arm and was about to strike across Sabrina's face with the shoes, she was stopped by a roar from behind her.
"STOP!"
