Linda was startled and her hand that was holding the shoe froze in the air. She snapped her head around only to find that the man who shouted for her to stop was Andrew, the youngest man in the office. Andrew had just turned twenty years old and had just graduated from University to work as an intern in the office. He had remained quiet before when the other male designers were speaking out for Sabrina, but had finally found his voice this time. Before Linda could react in any way, Andrew kicked her down to the ground, which wasn't challenging for a strong young man like himself. He did not risk waiting for Linda to react and immediately scooped Sabrina up in his arms, before dashing out like a ferocious lion.
At that very moment, even Sabrina was taken by surprise by this young boy. She had plenty of interaction with Andrew for the past few weeks at work, he was a quick-thinker with a natural longing towards knowledge. He often ran after her calling her " Sis", and Sabrina was more than willing to teach him everything she had learnt on the field, just like Aunt Grace did for her. But even so, Sabrina did not think that she was worthy of him taking such a risk to save.
She struggled and tried to get down as she was being carried out of the office. "Andrew, let me down, I have t o stay and take the beating! You don't understand, I have a daughter! If I deny Emma the pleasure of
taking it out on me, my daughter might even lose her home. You don't get it, let me down! I need to go back!"
Andrew's heart ached at every word Sabrina said, but he was a man, and men could not cry. He refused to listen to Sabrina and continued on his crazed run all the way to the elevator lobby. Luckily, the elevator happened to be vacant, so he went all the way down the road outside of the office building before finally setting Sabrina down.
"Sabrina, hurry and run!" Andrew begged, barely catching his breath. "Take your daughter and run, don't ever come back!"
Sabrina shook her head in resignation. "I ran for six years, and still, here I am."
"F*ck!" Andrew cursed.
"Andrew, listen to me, leave the city and never come back!" Sabrina stressed.
"...but what about you?"
"Me?" A bitter smile appeared on Sabrina's lips. "If my face is the price it takes to ensure the safety of my daughter, if letting them destroy my face would allow me to stay alive to watch my daughter grow up, it's worth it."
"You are still going to go back up there so that they can beat you up?"
Sabrina did not answer and turned to walk towards the elevator. Before she entered, she turned around to face Andrew one last time and said, "By the way, Andrew, send me your bank account number through messages later. I'll bank a million dollars over to your account so you could survive a little bit longer out there. Remember, take care!"
"Sis..." Andrew felt a lump in his throat.
"Go!"
With that, Sabrina stepped into the elevator.
Meanwhile at the Design Department, Ruth snatched the shoes from Linda's hands immediately after witnessing Sabrina being carried away by Andrew.
"Ms. Poole, I will go after Sabrina right away, that guy couldn't run far carrying her. I'll smash her face in as soon as I find her!"
Ruth had wished that Emma would tell her not to chase after Sabrina, but instead Emma simply responded by saying, "She won't run, Sabrina is going t o come back willingly. Trust me, that's how cheap a woman she is!"
