Linda's eyes widened in shock and shrieked after finally coming to register what had just happened. ' Dear...dear policeman, wh-why are you here? Please don't arrest me, you should be arresting this woman instead! She's a home-wrecker, a prisoner that escaped from prison before! She is a scammer who forged a fake resume, she- Ouch!"
"No matter what this lady has done wrong, you do not have the right to attack her!" the police said." Assaulting someone in public like this is a complete violation of state law! Please come with us!"
With that, the police began to drag Linda out. Bruises were starting to form around Linda's wrist as she resisted. She tried her best to ignore the pain and screamed frantically, "Ms. Poole, Ms. Poole, please help me! You were the one who asked me to beat Sabrina!" 1
"Scum!" Emma scoffed. She stood by as Linda was taken away by the police and refused to say a word to help.
Once Linda was taken out of the office, she turned to the crowd and asked sharply, "Who was it? Which one of you called the police? You are not going to get away with this once I find out!"
Little did she know, Lucas, William and Joel had all called the police. At that very moment, they all
decided in unison to remain silent. They knew they weren't capable of saving Sabrina from her fate, but they could do their best in preventing it.
"Ms. Poole, I think this isn't too bad an outcome.
Sabrina had offended you and received punishment for it. Now that you have vented your anger, let's end things here. You wouldn't Linda to report you to the police, would you?" the Design Director suggested gingerly. Her priority was to smooth things over and prevent them from escalating further, at least not in the Design Department.
Emma considered for a moment before lifting an eyebrow and said, "You are right. Let's call it a day."
Emma then made a dramatic exit, leaving everyone else at the scene whispering to one another.
