Sabrina looked around her as soon as she caught sight of the man, and as she had expected, the passersby had silently hid away or were simply silenced, their eyes widened in awe at his presence. It was almost as though the man who was leaning against the car lazily was the devil reincarnation himself. Even Yvonne and Ruth were stunned at his unannounced appearance.
Once the initial shock had passed, Yvonne gave Sabrina a gentle push. "Um, Mrs. Ford, you...you should go first."
Ruth nodded frantically towards Sabrina in agreement.
Sabrina bit her lip and started walking towards Sebastian, her fingers laced together nervously.
"What's wrong? You're upset?" he asked, before opening the car door for her. Behind the two were countless people trying to take a peep at the rare scene, while some simply stood frozen in shock.
Sebastian's arm automatically went up to Sabrina's shoulder to pull her closer after opening the car door, and she instantly twisted and shrugged his arm off, before getting into the car alone. If she was to be completely honest, she wasn't used to Sebastian picking her up from work or any form of public display, for that matter. She simply wanted to do her
job well without causing any trouble or being worshipped. 1
Sebastian did not seem offended that Sabrina had avoided his touch and casually went into the car after her. Many of the employees of the firm who witnessed the scene were once again awestruck. Sebastian Ford, the man who had tersely gotten rid of Linda and a famous movie star the day before; shortly after that, over a dozen of minor media operations throughout the country had been shut down forcefully this morning. And yet Sabrina didn't seem too happy with the man. Most shockingly, Sebastian Ford, namely the devil, was not enraged by the slightest. Nature really did work in strange ways. 1
The heated discussion did not cease even after the car had driven off.
Sebastian studied Sabrina wordlessly in the car. Her face was still slightly flushed from laughing with her friends earlier, and her features were relaxed with unconceivable happiness shining through. Like a fresh graduate who had just been hired, shy and hopeful. He was once again reminded of the photos and video Ryan had sent to him, where she was having lunch with two of her friends and showing them how she wiped her wrist and the sweat off her face with the inner layer of her skirt. The image of her joyful smile was burned into his memory and he was shocked to discover such a playful side of her.
Sebastian came to a sudden realization that Aino was not entirely like him, but had inherited some parts of
Sabrina as well. Perhaps Sabrina was always meant to be a care-free cheerful young woman who might make small mistakes and try to be sly about them from time to time.
Sabrina sat quietly. Sebastian was right next to her in an exquisite suit in his tall athletic form, oozing the powerful aura of mature masculinity. They sat in silence harmoniously, forming a glorious picture that was both a feast to the eyes of the beholder; though the public display of affection was almost painstaking for Kingston to watch from the driver's seat.
The car arrived at the kindergarten in a blink of an eye and as per usual. Sebastian waited in the car while Sabrina went in to pick Aino up from her classroom. She was taken by surprise when a few other young mothers swarmed towards her as soon as she stepped out of the vehicle.
"Ms. Scott- no, urn... Mrs. Ford, thank you. Thank you s o much for giving us the chance to send our children here. My daughter told me that she is best friends with Aino," said one of the mothers, who had been forced to leave the kindergarten by the others.
