Meanwhile, Sabrina had returned to stand beside Ruth with the skin-care products. "Here."
"Thank you, Mrs. Ford."
"Let's head up. Your eyes are swollen from all that crying. Go to the washroom later and wash your face with this and put some of this product on. That should ease the redness and swelling," Sabrina reminded gently. She did not ask about what had happened between Ruth and her mother. Sabrina wasn't a nosy person to begin with, so she didn't think that she had the right to ask about the conflict in someone else's family. Each family had their own struggle to deal with, after all.
The three went into the elevator together and as soon a s the door to the elevator closed, a dozen of employees appeared out of the blue. They had all arrived earlier o n, but did not have the nerves to be in the same elevator with Sabrina and decided to hide. It wasn't until they saw with their own eyes that Sabrina went u p with Yvonne and Ruth before they dared to step out o f hiding.
"I personally think Sabrina isn't that bad, actually. I mean, she didn't exactly become arrogant after landing such a powerful husband, or try to threaten anyone with her husband's status." 1 "I think so, too. I had thought that she was a very shy
person, but it seems like she can be quite cheerful as well."
"Forgiving, too! Not only did she forgive Ruth, she even went as far as giving her such high-end skin-care products as gifts. That's so nice of her."
"Hey, Madeline, don't be too worried about what might happen. If Sabrina could forgive Ruth despite what she had done before, she probably wouldn't even remember that you once said something slightly offensive about Ruth."
The woman who was called Madeline nodded with an awkward smile. "I hope so. I don't really think what I did was really that bad, anyways."
Another elevator came and everyone crammed into it. For the rest of the morning, the entire office was buzzing as everyone was overwhelmed with tasks. Sabrina herself was extremely busy from the moment she stepped into the office. She had managed to complete a few blueprints in one night and called a meeting with other designers, both men and women included, to review the designs.
"Everyone, take a look at these and let me know if you have any ideas or opinions for me. You can also put your own blueprints into the pile so that we can learn from one another's mistakes and expertise. What do you all think?" Sabrina looked confidently at each and every one of the colleagues in the Design Department.
Sabrina did not hold grudges against the female colleagues who had bullied her, and was more than willing to exchange knowledge with them all the same as she would others when it came to work. The women were, naturally, moved by the realization that Sabrina was not prejudiced or favored anyone in any way, and when treated with kindness, she would never forget it.
The women nodded in unison and agreed to an open discussion, when a lady with long wavy hair stepped into the Design Department office with a box of coffee.
She raised her voice and chirped, "Designer Scott, look what I brought for you. This is Green Mountain coffee.
I brought it back from overseas the last time I travelled abroad. Do accept this as a gift from me."
Sabrina hastily pinched her nose with two fingers." Get away from me! I don't drink coffee!" she commanded sharply without hesitation.
Just as Madeline struggled to react at the rejection, everyone's attention was caught by the frantic shouting from the front desk.
"Sir, sir! Who are you looking for? Sir..." The receptionist asked and before she could react, the man in suit had already strode into Sabrina's office.
Sabrina turned and jumped immediately in shock. " What...what on earth are you doing here?" she stuttered.
