Sebastian was absorbed into the single task of dabbing the handkerchief repeatedly on Sabrina's nose to wipe the sweat off in the gentlest manner possible, almost as though the little drops of sweat were living creatures and Sebastian was worried he might scare them. The tenderness in his motion combined with the boundless adoration towards Sabrina was the most solid proof to how precious she was to him.
Everyone in the office gaped at the sight, while Sabrina remained composed. She still couldn't get used to it, but ever since Sebastian returned from Kidon City, he had been exceptionally attentive to Sabrina for the past two days. She suspected it was guilt-motivated, but he even went as far as to take a bath for her and made sure to clean even the most private area of her body with utter tenderness. After their bath, he would take the time to dry her hair for her, before carrying her to bed to sleep in his arms. She had already become so accustomed to the routine that she had found a way to remain calm when facing the infamous "devil" according to others, even though she still found it difficult to understand the man or overcome the instinctual fear against him. Human's adaptability truly was boundless.
The current situation was the perfect example of that. Sabrina's composure remained unwavering despite
the fact people around them were on the verge of crumbling in fear. Some didn't even dare to breathe, and even though Sebastian's expression was comparatively gentler than usual, many felt the urge t o break down in tears in his presence.
Neglecting his motion of wiping the sweat off her, she asked, "I thought you said that you were here to look for me?"
"Mm," he hummed, his hand continuing to move.
"Then why don't you go on with what you came here for? What are you doing here in my work space?" she questioned, her tone slightly displeased.
The others, members of high management included, were scared shitless and were instantly put in a position where they were all unsure of what to do with themselves.
"You're not willing to let everyone know about us?" Sebastian asked. "Still looking to maintain your single status so that you can attract more handsome bachelors around you? So that I have to deal with a few more competitors?"
"What nonsense!" Sabrina gritted out. Competitors my ass! That was the first time ever that she realized
what a dramatic person he was. Wasn't he a man with a busy schedule and was known to manage his time perfectly down to the second? He looked idle to her! How was she supposed to work like this? There were plenty of blueprints she planned on reviewing with the others, and here he was, wiping sweat off her and wasting her time on meaningless questions.
She peered up with resignation and noticed Selene standing at the other end of the corridor.
"Se- Master Sebastian...why...why are you here?" Selene muttered with shaky lips.
Sebastian's gaze remained tender as he was looking a t Sabrina, but as soon as he turned to look at Selene, his aura completely transformed. Though his expression was placid, almost everyone around him tensed instinctively. "So now anyone can just walk right into this company? I should check with Director Shaw tomorrow and if that's the case, I might have to reconsider my partnership with this firm."
"No...that- that's not this is, Master Sebastian. I..." Frightened, Selene frantically attempted to explain.
