Multiple injuries on Jade's body had already been infected, and were covered with thick layers of ointment.
"Mom!" Selene cried out in tears. "Did my dad do all these? How can he be so cruel? How can he do this to his own wife?"
Jade shook her head and said, "I didn't exactly go easy on him either."
"What?! Where's dad?"
"In the guest bedroom."
Selene dashed her way to the guest bedroom and found her father in bed with bandages wrapped around his head. 1
"Dad...? Mom did this?"
"It's that abomination who drove a wedge between your mother and I," Lincoln gritted out maliciously.
"Sabrina, damn her! I'm going to skin her alive!" Selene cursed. Despite arriving home merely minutes ago, she grabbed her bag before heading out once again. 1
Selene had earned credit for taking care of the old Master Shaw for the past month, and with the old Master Shaw showing her off to the elite society in Kidon City throughout his trip, countless people from
wealthy and powerful backgrounds were eager to form connections with Selene. Some even went as far as to send her a sports car as a gift and she had accepted it without hesitation. She took a step back and analyzed the circumstances, and was pleased to come to the conclusion that her grandfather's influence over Kidon City was more than sufficient for her to return to South City to wreak havoc. She believed that as long as she had her grandfather's support, she would never fall short before anyone in South City. Even Sebastian Ford would not be a threat t o her!
Selene ran out in tears, grabbing her handbag from the front porch, before hopping onto the scarlet sports car they specifically brought to South City from Kidon City and drove towards the architectural design firm where Sabrina was working. She had known about Sabrina's employment with the firm and she fully intended on showing Sabrina who had the upper hand without giving her a chance to react. Sabrina might have thought that the storm had passed and everything was returning to normal now that she had defeated Emma to the point where Emma wouldn't be allowed to leave South City. 1
'The others might fear Sabrina, but she was no match t o me!' she thought, an evil smirk on her lips. 'I am going to appear when you least expect it and beat you t o death! You deserve this!"
Selene arrived at the firm in no time and parked her car at the entrance. She went to the back to retrieve a pair of old shoes hurriedly, before dashing into the elevator and went up. She did not bother stopping at the reception and went straight ahead towards the Design Department.
"Miss, Miss? Who are you looking for? How did you get in? You can't go in there! Who are you?? We are calling the police if you don’t stop!" The receptionist rushed after the very furious Selene while she raced ahead without looking back.
"Miss! We are going to call the police!" the receptionist shouted.
That seemed to have finally caught Selene's attention. She turned around slowly, her glare chillingly fierce." My cousin Marcus is the biggest shareholder of this company and I am the granddaughter of the old Master Shaw, the Shaw Family of South City. Don't you dare stand in my way!" 1
With that, Selene continued to charge forward. The receptionist chased after her and shouted, "Ms. Lynn, you can't go in there. We have a top priority guest today, you can't go in!"
Selene arrived at the Design Department regardless of the resistance, her grip tight around the shoes she prepared to hit Sabrina with. However, the sight that unfolded before she reached the entrance to the Design Department office made her stop in her tracks. Sebastian was holding a handkerchief and was gently wiping the sweat off Sabrina's nose for her.
