Still Wanna Escape After Stealing My Heart? novel Chapter 61

"What do you want?" Sabrina's tone remained composed and distant.

"Don't you think that you are good-for-nothing, Sabrina? I kidnapped you and almost had you killed. Master Sebastian might have gotten you out, but he didn't have the heart to punish me even when he knew that I was behind it. Up until now I am still unscathed, what a loser of a wife you are!" Selene vented in frustration arrogantly. 1

"Keep harassing me on the phone and I will tell Master Sebastian's mother about this. So the next time when she comes looking for you and your mother, it won't be to get your mother to just slap you, but to completely destroy that face of yours. I look forward to finding out how you could marry Sebastian with a ruined face!"

"Why you..." Selene was at complete loss of words from the fierceness in Sabrina's tone. She paused for a few moments before sneering mysteriously and continued, "Just you wait, Sabrina. Soon a grand show will be made out of you for all to see!" 2

"What do you mean?" Sabrina asked.

"Bye!" Not intending to explain further, Selene hung u p triumphantly.

Sabrina thought to herself, 'A grand show? What else

can they do to her? She is already living in dirt, the three thousands that Nigel gave me is all I have on m e. To top that, I am pregnant with a child with no clue who the father is, and I am currently bound by a contract to live under Sebastian's control."

She might have Nigel's help from time to time at her work under the Conor Group, and with Marcus added into the equation, it might seem like she was surrounded by wealthy men. But for an unattractive woman with no background, who was only better than a beggar by the slightest, this was hardly something to be celebrated. She had no intention of reaching for a life that was clearly out of her league, she only wanted a peaceful life. She would have been more than thankful if only there was someone there to care for her occasionally, like Nigel did. 1

Deep down, Sabrina knew that Nigel was just another scion from wealthy families and it was nothing more than an attempt of trying something new for him to extend a helping hand to a lowly nobody like her. Despite the slightly demeaning nature of the assistance he had provided her thus far, Sabrina was grateful, so much so that she would find her heart filled with warmth when she thought of him sometimes. Sabrina did not see him when she returned to the office in the afternoon, nor at the bus station in front of her company to give her a ride. It had been three days since she last saw Nigel and it had left her feeling like something was missing. 1

Regardless, she had kept herself occupied with running errands in the office during the day for her colleagues and when she returned to Sebastian's apartment at night. She spent every minute alone drawing up the drafts for her project. This was the first designing project that was ever assigned to her b y the Design Director. Not only was she required to complete it alone, she had to excel in this to fulfill the director's expectation. Swarmed with tasks, she didn't have the time to wonder about why Nigel hadn't shown himself in three days, nor did she bother herself over what Selene meant by what she said in that phone call. What fascinated Sabrina, though, was that she hadn't seen Sebastian as well for the past few days. Naturally, she was delighted that she did not have to spend time with the cold-hearted man in the same apartment. It was almost liberating that she no longer had to withstand the stress and anxiety his presence had brought to her.
