Still Wanna Escape After Stealing My Heart? novel Chapter 62

Burning the midnight oil to design drafts was Sabrina's favorite hobby and was also the major she had studied in university. Her encounter with Aunt Grace in prison had been most fruitful as Aunt Grace was a professional in architecture; the two clicked right off the bat with most of their conversations focusing on the subject. Aunt Grace was experienced i n the field and had taught Sabrina much within the two years they spent together in prison, which was the reason why Sabrina managed to enrich her knowledge on the field despite being in prison.

She completed the drafts of her proposal by herself in three days, utilizing the time she had after work. What set her apart was that she had drafted the designs by hand, as she didn't have access to a computer. In the bedroom that was hardly spacious to begin with, crumbled papers of her drafts began to surround her feet as the night went by.

The next day, she woke up late as she had overslept and rushed out to work, forgetting to close the door of her room behind her. Right after she had left, Sebastian stepped out of his bedroom and his attention was drawn to a piece of scrap paper outside Sabrina's door. He picked it up and discovered it to be a design for a building with a red cross on it, marking i t as an invalid idea. Sebastian's mother, Grace was an architect with incredible expertise. Growing up with

the exposure, he had managed to pick up the knowledge and became an expert himself in viewing building designs. He could tell that despite it being voided, the hand-drawn draft designed by Sabrina was comparable to that of a professional architect. It took him by surprise. 1

'Sabrina knows how to design buildings?’ he thought, a s he placed the voided draft back to her room and closed the door behind him before leaving.

Meanwhile, Sabrina took the one blueprint that she deemed closest to perfection to work and handed it over to the Design Director in private.

"Director, I am truly thankful for your trust. I didn't have time to work on this as I had been running errands at the office during the day, so I drew this at night when I got home from work. I hope you would approve. If there is anything that is lacking, I am more than willing to make amendments. I...I don't have access to a computer, so I drew this by hand and it might be a bit messy."

In truth, Sabrina's blueprint was far from messy. But this had been her first design at her first job ever since she was released from prison, she knew better than to be anything but modest.

The director took a glance at the draft without commenting in either positive or negative manner. Instead, he looked at Sabrina with a smile and said," It's your first attempt at a blueprint so it's bound to have some issues here and there. I will review this and mark down anything that I need you to amend." 2

"Thank you, director," replied Sabrina in a humble tone. 1

"Also..." The director considered for a moment before saying, "I need you to tell everyone out there that I will be treating them Thai milk tea this afternoon. That includes you, of course."

Sabrina was mindful not to react like she was surprised by this offer, she knew her place and went b y the motto of taking the rough with the smooth. Her colleagues in the office bought drinks and afternoon sweets in bulk every day, taking turns to treat one another and had always demanded for Sabrina to be the one to actually run their errands. She was never treated herself and she had never spoken a word about it. So when the director proposed to treat her, she simply responded with a thank-you expressionlessly, before heading out to inform her colleagues.

Naturally, the missions of ordering lunch for everyone and buying their afternoon snacks still fell on Sabrina's shoulders on that day. She first headed to a small restaurant for a lunchbox that cost no more than ten dollars and carried on to the milk tea shop after to order takeaway for her colleagues.

It was the moment when she turned to leave after finally getting her order on the snacks and milk tea that she saw a woman standing in her way.

"So you're done with being a waitress and have joined the ranks of delivery services?" The woman looked down on Sabrina with an arrogant expression.
