The old Master Shaw stood trembling in fury and was at a loss of words. It was not until Sabrina went into the fitting room when he finally said furiously, "I will have Marcus cut all ties with you! Don't you even think about getting any money off of him!" And with that, he turned and left.
Mindy walked over to Sabrina with a pretentious smile and explained, "So sorry about that, Sabrina. I didn't mean for that to happen. I have no idea why my grandfather would come all the way here, maybe one o f the servants had told him about this. Grandfather has been furious these past two days when he caught news that Brother Marcus has associated himself with some skank of unknown background, so he had been paying attention to where Brother Marcus and I g o..." i
Her explanation was full of contradictions but Sabrina did not react to it. She looked at Mindy calmly and said, "I don't care about that. All I care about is that I get to work on that day at the cruise party and I get m y ten thousand dollars."
She knew that she was only a subject to toy with these wealthy people. The elders of these families might even consider it their birth right to condemn a woman like herself, but what could she do about this? It would not impact her life and so she couldn't be bothered to b e upset over it. The only thought in Sabrina's mind
was to earn the ten thousands she was promised as soon as possible! 1
Sabrina headed back hurriedly by bus after removing all the makeup. On the way, she received a phone call from the Design Director.
"Sabrina, the blueprint you submitted to me was designed by you so I assume you must have your own interpretation that best describes the details of the design. How about you come to the office slightly earlier tomorrow and deliver the blueprint to our client yourself?" the director asked. 1
"Okay...but if I am the one to bring it over..." Sabrina hesitated, as the signature on the blueprint was signed by the director.
"You are my assistant and my apprentice whom I have kept by my side whenever I work, so it's only normal that you should be familiar with my style. You should be capable of explaining everything in detail b y now, shouldn't you?" the director added.
Sabrina remained silent for a while before replying in monotone, "Yes, of course.” She was aware that she was the scapegoat for the director in case anything went wrong, but what else could she have done?
