Sabrina did not answer, lowering her head as she continued to eat.
The skin on the sweet potatoes were not completely peeled yet, so she continued to remove them as she ate.
"Do you like sweet potatoes that much?" Nigel asked.
"Yeah, they're sweet," Sabrina replied.
"It can't really be that sweet, it's not chocolate! Hand it over and let me try, if I find out that you've tricked me, I’ll deal with you right here!"
Nigel snatched Sabrina's plate away, taking it forcefully from her hands. He did not seem to care that they were out in the open, nor did he bother about the dust everywhere. Using the fork, he placed a piece of sweet potato into his mouth.
Sabrina was stunned.
She stared blankly at Nigel.
Nigel gulped down one after another. After finishing, h e paused before saying, "D*mn, I did not expect the food at this construction site to be so good. That sweet potato was so good... It's sweet yet fragrant, coarse and waxy."
His expression was clearly exaggerated and uncouth.
Yet, Sablina laughed.
It was a sweet laugh, the kind that truly came from the heart.
Nigel was stunned, his eyebrows furrowing.
He had never seen her laugh. She had mostly worn the cold expression of a bitter woman who rejected everyone. Even on the rare occasions that he had seen her smile, it had always been surface level, for courtesy's sake.
However, that was not the case this time.
Her laughter now was musical, her smile resembled...
