"Oh..." Jane looked at Sabrina. "Sabrina, is it okay if I meet your friends?"
"Why not? One of them is the fiance of one of the Poole brothers, you might meet each other often in the future. Her name is Ruth Mann. The other is my colleague, Yvonne. I'm sure you'll like her when you meet her."
Sabrina was right. The moment Jane met Yvonne, who was like a lively human firecracker, she liked her immediately. Ruth, who was standing beside Yvonne, seemed more shy and reserved.
Jane asked Sabrina softly, "Didn't you say she’s quite fierce too?"
"Oh, her!" Sabrina rolled her eyes at Ruth. "She's an introvert! She'll only show you how fierce she is after she grows close to you. She seems silly and naive to those who don't know her."
Jane laughed.
"Uhm..." Ruth started awkwardly. "When I came here Ryan told me you’re his... Aunt, he asked me to call you Aunt too. Hello, Aunt Jane."
"You're Ruth, right?" Jane asked.
"Aunt Jane." "How come you’re so obedient?" Jane couldn't help but
worry for her. Jane knew Alex’s nephew, Ryan, quite well. She didn't know how Ryan fell for such a simple and obedient girl like her, but well, to each its own. She could tell the girl loved Ryan very, very much. But the Pooles of Kidon City were not a normal family. The Poole family was large with sprawling business ventures in every sector, unparalleled in Kidon City, but because the Poole family was large and wealthy beyond imagination, many warring factions existed within the family. Jane remained safely out of trouble because Alex was the most powerful one in his family. But the rest fought and contested for everything, so she was worried a quiet and naive girl like Ruth would suffer greatly and lose out.
Listening to Jane’s compliments, Ruth respected her even more. "I...actually I used to be a terrible person with a poor personality. But after I grew close to Sabrina, I was influenced by her. I'm not very cultured, and I’m not very capable either. If you could, Aunt Jane, please teach me more in the future."
