Sweet Mischief's Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 273

"Are you referring to the guy who plays the ghost?" The nurse asked.

Mia nodded, "Yes."

The nurse gave her a number, "41."

Mia thanked her and walked into the ward with her gift.

It was the end of the year, and the hospital was practically deserted as most people chose to leave before the year-end. Nobody wanted to spend Christmas in a hospital; it was bad luck.

The worker was pretty unlucky. He could have been home for Christmas but ended up in here. Mia glanced into the room from the doorway. It was empty. She knocked and walked in. The worker was a man, lying in bed with an IV drip in one arm and watching a horror movie on his phone with the other.

Seeing Mia, he was startled and almost dropped his phone on his face. He swore, then clutched his blanket tightly.

Seeing his reaction, Mia quickly raised her hands, "Don't be scared, I'm not here to hit you, really."

He would never forget the tourist who judo-flipped him!

Mia walked up with the fruit basket and placed it on the table. The man was startled and gripped the nurse call button tightly. If anyone tried to attack him, he'd be ready to call for help. He was a tall guy, standing at 6’3”, but he still seemed a bit flustered seeing Mia.

"I came to apologize." Mia said, taking out some money from her pocket and placing it next to his pillow, "I'm sorry for injuring you."

She even bowed.

Christmas was coming, everyone was going home. But because of her, he was in the hospital. She felt guilty. If he was a bad guy, it would be one thing to hit him. However, he was just doing his job, and he was really good at playing a ghost.

Thinking about it, she felt bad and wanted to apologize in person and give him some compensation.

The worker was speechless. This was the first time he had met such a tourist. She hit him the hardest, yet she was the first to visit him in the hospital and even gave him money.

"Um, I accept your apology." The worker put down the call button.

He looked at the girl in front of him, and Mia also curiously looked at him. They sized each other up.

The worker looked at Mia. She seemed to be still a student, petite and cute. Her innocent face didn't match the image of someone who could throw a 140 pounds man to the ground.

It was dark in the room that day, he was focused on scaring people and didn't get a good look at her. Mia also observed the man in the bed. How did he manage to float around in the air, dressed in red and screaming at the same time? She always thought ghosts were played by women.

The man in the bed spoke up first, "If you don't mind me asking, are you a physical education student?" How else could a girl take down three grown men on her own?

Mia shook her head, "I also have a question."

She looked at him, "You're clearly a man, why do you play a female ghost?"

"I like the job." The worker said.

Mia said, "Your hobby is quite unique."

The man introduced himself, "My name is Michael."

Mia also told him her name, "I'm Mia."

His IV was almost empty, and the nurse came in to change it. Mia sat on the empty bed next to him and asked, "Where is your family?"

"They're at home." Michael said.

Mia said, "You're really good at chatting."

"So are you." Michael retorted.

Their conversation was awkward at first, but eventually, they hit it off.
