Mia had an argument with her younger brother, which later jeopardized her pregnancy. Andre was terrified.
"I didn't know I was pregnant. Cooper rushed me to the hospital. I didn't want to go, but he pushed me into the car. I thought I was just having my period. I truly had no idea I was pregnant. If I had known, I wouldn't have argued with Cooper." Mia said.
"Mia, you really need some discipline." Andre said.
Mia laid down the law and answered, "I'm carrying your child now. Can't you wait until I give birth before you lecture me?"
Both Aaron and Madison arrived. Madison was only in her forties, relatively young among the crowd, but she was about to become a grandmother out of the blue. It was a bit hard for her to grasp, but her daughter had been married for over six months, so a pregnancy was only natural.
"Dad, mom, you're here." Mia greeted her parents.
Andre turned his head, saw Aaron and Madison, and then stood up. He said, "Dad, mom, did Cooper spill the beans?"
Cooper glared at everyone in the room, his face as dark as a thundercloud.
Just then, a nurse wheeled in a wheelchair to transport the patient to the ward.
Andre said, "No need, I can carry my wife."
Cooper stepped forward, shoving Andre aside, and said, "I should be the one carrying my sister to the ward. Andre, there's work to be done at the company. You should get back to work. My sister doesn't need you here."
"I need him." Mia whispered.
After she finished, she received a disapproving look from Cooper. Mia hung her head, not daring to look at him.
Cooper walked over and lifted his sister. He was so thin that Mia was worried she might break his arm or that he might drop her on the floor. She raised both hands, pointing at Andre, and said, "Honey, I want you to carry me."
Cooper exclaimed, "I can't believe you could do this to me!" He was so angry that he put his sister down and stormed out.
Aaron quickly followed to check on his son, while Madison stayed with Andre and her daughter who were headed for the maternity ward.
Madison, being experienced with pregnancy, looked after her daughter and said, "Andre, go see the doctor. Find out what they have to say. I'll stay here with Mia."
Andre set his wife down, tucked her in, and gently comforted her. He said, "I'll be right back."
Mia nodded in agreement.
After Andre left, only Madison and Mia remained in the ward. Madison sighed and said, "I still feel young, but here I am about to become a grandmother. Mia, how did you almost miscarry?"
"I told Cooper that Andre's my husband, he didn't believe me. He called me lazy, stupid, criticized my personality, blamed me for how I do things, and even criticized the guys I dated. I couldn't take it anymore and had a blowout with him. Then the doctor said it was because I overexerted myself and got too angry. They told me to keep my cool and avoid getting into arguments from now on." Mia said.
Madison asked, "You've been pregnant for two months. Didn't you feel anything?"
Mia shook her head and answered, "Mom, I really didn't feel anything."
"You should have been more careful when your period was irregular." Madison told her.
Mia said, "Usually, when I'm on my period, Andre is more worried than I am. But lately, I've been on vacation, and all I could think about was having fun. I didn't notice my period didn't come."
