They took the risk, but Tom had taken the fall for them. Molly had regained her memory, and the truth of what happened in the past was coming to light.

But they were just lucky enough. If it had not been for Molly’s intervention, who knows what would have happened to Mia, the one lying sick in bed.

There was no point in arguing about right or wrong. They all just wished for calm after the storm.

Mia wanted to go home. She sobbed with a trembling voice. “I want to go home to my parents.”

Hansen told his grandson, “Leo, take Mia back home.”

In the hospital room, Molly said to Andre, “Andre, Mia wasn’t supposed to be there. She only showed up to save me and Leo, tricking Tom into thinking Holly was here. That’s what got Tom’s attention.”

It was strange. For some reason, when Tom discovered Mia, he didn’t even bother to grab the phone with the recording. He clenched his fists and seemed ready to tear Mia apart.

While others were in the dark, the two Cedillo brothers knew the truth. His hatred for Mia came mostly from the pain of a stabbed palm. That day, Andre had pierced his palm with a fork. Who wouldn’t hold a grudge?

Unable to retaliate against Andre, he took it out on the woman Andre loved. It was the only way to explain why Mia, a pregnant woman he barely knew, could provoke such rage in him, even more than a phone with damning evidence.

Andre, the man at the top of the pyramid, how could he not have foreseen this?

After the incident, the entire Cedillo family left the hospital, leaving Molly to the Byrnes.

On the way home, Bruce glanced at his younger brother who was driving. “Ease up, will you? Mia might be lively, but she’s still just a student. She was spoiled by the Irvins and no one dared to bully her. You should understand that she’s feeling upset and afraid because of your temper.”

When Andre got home, he wanted to find his wife. But he learned that she’d gone to her parents’ house.

Naomi asked, “Are you going to pick Mia up?”

Andre frowned. “Let her hide.”

The couple’s disagreement seemed serious this time.

When Leo got home, his uncle didn’t lay a hand on him. Instead, it was his own parents who were close to doing so. Leo was so angry he decided to stay in a hotel.

Molly had suffered a mild concussion. It wasn’t severe, but the Byrnes had her stay in the hospital for a full-body check up, just to be safe.

Coleen and Grandma Aubree decided to stay in the hospital with her.

Molly watched her brother’s tall figure leave with shining eyes.

“What are you looking at? Do you want me to take care of you? I’m too busy for that,” Chad said harshly.

Molly pouted, not daring to express her thoughts any further.

Chad and Kendrick left the hospital together. On the way, Kendrick said to his son, “Molly always wants you by her side whenever something happens. If you’re not busy, you should spend more time with her at the hospital. She just got hurt and needs comforting.”

Chad replied, “If I comfort her now, I’m just planting seeds for future trouble. Dad, the Waltons are not easy to deal with. Tom escaped. Finley was arrested. But don’t forget, Mr. Marlow will come to their rescue.”

Kendrick understood that his son wanted to take advantage of the hot trail and end this once and for all. “You should still explain things to Molly. Did you see the way she looked at you when you left?”

Chad’s eyes flickered with remorse, recalling his sister’s dependence on him. “For her safety in the future, a temporary separation won’t hurt.”

“You and Andre are the same. Tough on the outside, but really tender on the inside.”

Chad didn’t deny it. After dropping his father off at work, he went back to the station.

Mia had returned home in tears. No one knew what had happened. Madison immediately contacted Aaron. Upon hearing that his daughter was crying, he rushed home.

As soon as he entered the house, he saw his daughter on the couch. “Mia, what’s wrong? Are they not letting you go out? Are you unhappy?”

Mia wiped her tears. “Dad, I want to stay home.”
