Sweet Mischief's Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 491

Chad asked again, “So what did you have for dinner?”

“Dad got me a big beef burger, and he also got some orange juice and milk.”

As the siblings were chatting, Kendrick up ahead received a call. After hanging up, he called out to his daughter, “Molly, come join your mom for a walk.”

“Okay, coming.” Molly quickly told Chad, “I’m going to walk with mom.”

“Alright, don’t be out too late.”

Kendrick stepped away from his wife and daughter to answer the call. “Hey, Sis. If you’re still worried about Dave and your husband’s job, I can’t help you.”

Juliana wanted to argue, but Vivian quickly stopped her stepmother and shook her head. “Little bro, I don’t mean any harm. I just wanted to check on Coleen’s health. I didn’t visit during her surgery, and now with our mom getting older and you and Chad busy with work, I wanted to help take care of Coleen for a few days.”

Kendrick couldn’t believe his sister’s sudden change of heart. Just a few days ago, she kept asking him how long his wife had left to live.

Kendrick replied, “No need. Molly’s taking care of her mom and Coleen’s recovering well.”

Juliana insisted, “As the eldest sister, it’s only right for me to visit my sister-in-law. I mean well.”

“I appreciate the sentiment, but really, there’s no need. Go home.”

With that, Kendrick ended the call.

On the other end, Juliana cursed, “Vivian, didn’t you say if I spoke nicely, your uncle would let me visit? Now, I’m all riled up. He’s got a wife now and doesn’t care about his sister anymore. Heartless!”

Vivian frowned. It seemed Kendrick was firm in his decision.

Back at the hospital, Coleen casually asked, “Who was that?”

“Just work.”

As the night grew cold, Coleen’s hands began to chill, and the three decided to head back.

Since Coleen was still undergoing cancer screenings, her discharge was delayed.

These days, Molly had been the most hardworking. Chad watched her efforts with an aching heart.

Every time they passed the nurse’s station, he’d guide Molly to the scale to weigh herself.

“Wow, bro, I’ve lost six pounds. That’s amazing.”

Molly’s excitement didn’t align with Chad’s concern.

It seemed only the person losing weight was happy, while their family members were worried.

As Jade lost weight, she was happy, but it cost Chad three months of his salary.

Coleen jokingly told her daughter, “Don’t just spend money, learn to earn it as well.”

Molly cleverly replied, “Mom, you don’t understand. We’re in the fashion business, right? As the daughter of the powerful businesswoman Coleen, I need to understand the market, investigate it, and stay ahead in aesthetics. So, don’t I need to shop and buy clothes often?

Of course, I also need to wear them and personally feel the pros and cons of the design. So, I’m not spending money, I’m being a ‘guinea pig’ for the company. It’s a great sacrifice.”

At that time, the whole Byrne family in the hospital room was listening to Molly’s lofty justifications.

Coleen smiled at her daughter, “That’s quite a hardship. But why are you always spending my son’s money?”

Chad also chuckled at his sister.

Molly replied, “I’m used to it.”

That one sentence made everyone in the room burst into laughter.

Suddenly, Chad received a call from his apprentice, “Boss, a woman is here looking for you. She’s carrying a lunchbox.”

“A woman?” Chad was puzzled, “Is she a relative of a complainant?”
