Sweet Mischief's Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 673

Leo frowned, his face a mirror of his uncle's irritation.

He found a quiet spot to sit, and in no time, a girl took the seat across from him. "Thanks for grabbing that book for me. Can I buy you a drink?" she said.

Leo snapped his book shut with a look of impatience. "Are you always this annoying?"

"Chad~" A soft voice came from behind Leo.

Leo turned to see little Anya standing there. "Anya, what are you doing here?"

Anya glanced at the girl across from Leo and then pouted at him. She didn't fully grasp what was happening but knew Chad had been talking to this girl for a while. She had been searching for Chad in the study area and ended up among the bookshelves, where she spotted the two, recognizing Leo's silhouette and deciding to approach.

She saw they had been chatting and seemed to be getting along well.

Leo quickly pulled out the chair next to him. "Anya, come sit over here."

Anya obediently walked over and sat down next to Leo, then looked at the girl across from them and asked, "Who's she?"

Before Leo could respond, the girl jumped in. "I'm just here to study. I couldn't reach a book, and this gentleman helped me out. I wanted to thank him by buying him a drink. And who are you?" she asked, turning her gaze to Anya.

"None of your business."

The girl sneered, "Do you know how rude you are?"

Anya shot back, "Do you know how fake you sound?"

The girl bristled at being called fake. "Excuse me?" she said loudly, drawing the attention of those around them.

Leo shouted, "If you two want to argue, take it outside."

Both the girl and Anya immediately fell silent.

Anya stood up, fuming, and was about to leave, but Leo grabbed her wrist and pulled her back down. "I wasn't talking about you."

If not Anya, then...

Anya’s eyes flicked to the girl, her irritation somehow endearing. "Chad was talking about you."

"You!"

Leo stood up, book in hand, and led Anya to a better-lit spot, ignoring the girl who had been sitting across from them.

Once they sat down, Anya started to fume at Leo. "Don't pull me around, Chad."

"Oh, come on, what's there to be mad about? I didn’t even take her drink," Leo said, completely clueless about a girl's emotions. If he understood, he wouldn't be so oblivious. He thought Anya was upset about him potentially accepting a drink from another girl.

Anya pouted, "If I hadn't come by, you would have."

Leo was at a loss. "Haven’t I had drinks before? Can't I buy my own? Why would I need her to buy me one?"

He pulled out his phone to order drinks. "What do you want? I'll buy."

"I'm not having anything," Anya sulked. "It's not about her buying you a drink."

"Then what are you mad about?" Leo was genuinely puzzled.

"Chad, how can you be so clueless?"

"What am I supposed to understand?"

For the first time, Leo felt the exhaustion his programmer friends often complained about when arguing with their girlfriends.

Anya was fuming. "Why did you even help her get the book?"

Leo: "Because I was the only one there, and it was just grabbing a book."

"She couldn’t ask a librarian? You're not a librarian."

"There was only one librarian today, busy at the entrance, unable to help her."
