Sweet Mischief's Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 73

Mia was stunned.

"You accuse me of not respecting our marriage? I'm in a relationship with Leo? Are you out of your mind to think that way?"

Andre was at a loss for words.

Mia was fuming, "If I were seeing Leo, would I have married you? Can't you come up with a better excuse? Your excuse disappoints me just like you do."

Andre, unlike a girl, held back his impulse and said, "You and Leo go to the movies, shopping, traveling together... Aren't you two a couple? Leo has met your parents, haven't you two made promises to each other? Leo admitted that you two had something going on, is that a lie? You accuse me of making excuses, Mia, when have you ever been transparent with me? You keep being flirty with Leo behind my back, ignoring my feelings, and yet pretend to be infatuated with me, calling me back home to sleep, sweet-talking me as 'hubby'? Are all women like you, hypocritical, saying one thing and meaning another?"

Again, Mia was left confused.

It seemed like there was a misunderstanding between her and her husband.

And it seemed to be a very serious misunderstanding.

"Andre, do you think Leo and I were exes?"

"Isn't that the case?"

Mia asked, "So the reason you didn't let me switch hospitals, didn't let Leo transfer schools is because you don't want us start over?"

This time, Andre didn't answer, but his gaze on Mia deepened.

"Are you two going to start over?"

"Of course not! What are you blabbering about? We never had anything to start with, how could we start over? How do you manage such a big company with a brain like yours? People hail you as a business tycoon, I think you're just a joke. Leo is my little sidekick, how could I possibly have feelings for my sidekick? Really crazy!" Mia shook her head, speechless.

So, the misunderstanding was here.

She had to apologize to Leo first.

After hearing Mia's words, Andre frowned, his nephew was a sidekick? What was their relationship exactly?

Mia calmed down, she started to explain to Andre chronologically, "In third grade, Leo and I were in the same class, he bullied me, and then I beat him... When we were in junior high, he tried to retaliate, but I beat him again... in high school, he challenged me again, this time I hit him a bit too hard, he got pretty beat up..."

Based on Mia's description, Andre did remember that his nephew was once badly beaten, even took sick leave. Turned out, it was a girl who did it, and that girl was his wife.

He narrowed his eyes, continuing to listen to Mia.

"After high school, me, him and Jade somehow ended up in the same university, Leo chose business school to avoid me. He thought he had escaped from my clutches, little did he know I ended up marrying you, and you happened to be his uncle…"

Andre was lost in his memories, it seemed like Leo was not thrilled, but terrified and shocked when he first met Mia.

Mia continued: "He's always been a proud young master at home, he likes to maintain his dignity and didn't want me to reveal his dark past of being bullied by me for ten years. In exchange, when I have conflicts with him, he has to step in to mediate and protect me. And I, would cover up for him all those years he got beaten up by me. When he met my parents, it was not surprising, because he had to do my homework every winter and summer holiday, and every weekend. He was at my house when Jade was there, so my parents knew him, and they also knew that I always bullied Leo at school!

After that, when you asked me about Leo, I had promised him not to tell his family that he was beaten up by me, that he was my sidekick, so I told you what happened between me and Jade. I never went to the movies, traveled, or shopping with Leo. All those things I did with Jade!”

Andre's eyebrows furrowed slightly. Had he misunderstood from the beginning?

“Why did Leo smash my dad's Aaron, take his mum's diamond, risking getting beaten up to keep you?”

Mia replied: "He thought he was being clever, thinking you would take advantage of me at night. After all, we have a decade of friendship, he wouldn't neglect my safety. At least at home, I can scream for help, and he can come to my rescue.”
